I wrote before wanting encouraging words for my puppy who got parvo from the breeders home. I am going to report him to the spca and the akc but exactly how should about this the right way? This is my first puppy and I want to defend her. What he is doing is wrong and should not go on any longer. (He had parvo in that same room before with other puppies) Please help with any information on small claims court cases about the damage he has caused and how to properly file against him. Anything will help. Thank you
porving this is a hard thing. you may know it is true, but without proof it is hear say. you can just thcall spca and report it. but be for warned just because the pups got sick in his care does not make him a criminal. just like children get sick in parents care. there has to be some form of negelect. whick also is hard to prove. sadly dogs are consider property. so if you are looking for compensation, i would be suprised if you even get what you paid for them. this is a said truth is the world of dogs. i do hope you have success. and getting in touch with other owners who have had problems defintly helps. by filing a combined complaint, it is easier for them to start a formal invesigation. also make a police report. if you do not get justice now. this report can be used later.
i helped a poor almost dead shepherd get rescued from a so called show breeder...the pup had kennel cough, phemonia, worms so bad it took a triple wormer, and at almost 1 year old she weighed 37 pounds...her back measured 3 1/2 inches across the back...she also had her eats eatten to the flesh by flys...the vet suggest to put her down..but the girl decided to try...she lived and her weight is up to 53 pounds now but she is still messed up..i called akc...they gave a sequince of things that had to happen...as well as th german shepherd dog club...and they gave me some insight...nothing is easy...akc did go out to investigate...and animal control of corse...but how bad doe it have to be to get attention..you guess is as good as mine..good luck fighting for your pooch...it isnt a responcable thing this guy did...will you be able to stop him...probably not...but in your fight you just might help another pup...go get um...good luck
I don't know much about this, but if you are unable to report it and legally do anything about it, I would at least let potential buyers know what poor quality this breeder is. If the breeder is an irresponsible person, make sure his business suffers from it and maybe he'll clean up his act next time. Spread the word through mouth and the internet. Just make sure you speak only the truth and give hard facts so he can't get you for slander.
AKC doesn't really care, I've contacted them about some disgusting breeders and they told me they don't get involved with what the breeders do. Disgusting! I am not thrilled with the AKC lately... but anyway. You can call the USDA and they will do a check on the kennel, and your local spca/humane society and see what they say, or even a breed rescue.
Unless they are licensed I don't think the USDA has the legal right to inspect people's homes with out a court order, really none of those groups, unless they can see abuse going on in plain view.
Also, ANY DOG CAN GET PARVO it is so bad and contagious. Maybe another puppy buyer came in to the breeders home after seeing another breeders puppy that had parvo. Or maybe the breeder's puppies got it from the vets office floor, or a dog show or someone who had been to a dog park. I just don't see why the breeder is at fault.
