It was crunch time for Kailey whether she was going to live or not. Yesturday she had to have a blood transfusion. 6 hours later no sign of improvement so they told us that in 24 hours we will know her outcome. She could pass away in the night, or no improvement which we would see if we need to put her down, or that she will be fine. This morning I called and she was so hungary she was chewing on her blanket. Yeah!!! The vet was so excited she gave her food and little Kailey ate it so fast that she threw it up.(just the food, no blood) Hopefully she will keep her food down so she can come home.
One of the rescue girls I got from the shelter was sooo sick that my vet didn't expect her to make it. They tested her for parvo 3 times but it wasn't parvo. She was so loaded with parasites, both internal and external, that she had no color whatsoever in her mouth. Her tongue and gums were pure white. She was given an immediate blood transfusion and hospitalized for 3 days. She showed some improvement and was released. Within 2 weeks, she was healthy.
Hope your little one pulls through. If she is eating again, then there is hope!
