Sorry I vanished for two dys. We are having those issues with the dogs peeing and stuff so it's been a downer for the family. Alex wants to let them come out and play but I am the one cleaning up after them so you can see where that is going. We also put up the tree and are now trying to teach Alexis to leave ornaments where the "live" (on the tree) and to "just look, don;t touch" That's not working very well either. But for a two year old she's showing some self restraint. How's your whole pack? Does your family do dog x-mas gifts or stockings? We're thinking about it but with how much we've spent on them (875.00), vet bills (320.00) crate (79.99) toys, leashes, pee pads, treats..etc. (65.00) I feel like we're becoming one of those credit card commericals. You know the one that lists all the prices of things you've bought and then says something like..."Having a full (full of poop and pee, lol) house for the Holiday's...PRICELESS. I think it's a Mastercard commercial. I think we will do without the stockings since they've had plenty spent on them!
If you let the girls out try it one or two at a time if you get to oevrweled with them all out.And make sure they are on leashes.
I do fill up their stockings for x-mas.Only bad part is,is that i have to pay for it myself (grooming money) We now have 10 stockeings up on the Mantel...really need it to be bigger though. I just buy theem treats and toys from walmrat, like the 88 cent ones. Our pups love the snow, now that it finally fell and stayed. We got 7.5 inches in one day.We do have to keep them off the salt though because it hurts their feet.
Ten stockings?! WOW. And I thought I had a full house. When they go out it's on our back deck. We made a make-shift potty area. It was once my garden but most of it dried up so it's kind of a dirt garden box and they go in that. I don't have all three leashes yet because I walk them one at a time so I just pick them up out of the kitchen walk them to the back deck and place them outside. I stand and tell them to go pee, and have tiny hard treats for them if they go. Since the back deck is small they don't run around or anything and the dirt garden is essentially on a concrete slab. So going out is just out back and it's covered so it's dry and warmer than outside-outside, you know? After they've gone pee I let them wrestle around to get fresh air and energy out. But this is how they roll in pee or poo. Should I maybe not let them play out there unsupervised after potty time? I don't plan to stand out there with them for longer than 5-6 minutes. Maybe being out alone is hurting potty training since I'm not there to praise when they do go.
Seven inches? That sounds like where my folks live in Spokane Washington. It's like living in the mountains as far as snow and slush. Our snow is long gone. It's fun for a few days but people over here rarely see it so they start driving like lunatics!

I probably wouldnt let them outside unsupervised...your right you cant praise them when they are doing good and you cant correct when they are doing bad.I dont let my dogs play outside when they arent housebroke completely....as weird as thta sounds. They are out there for one reason and that is to do their business and come right back in.They may not be going potty out there just playing.
Its freezing here,It was starnge they just said it would snow 7.5 inches in one day and then they are expecting some more this weekend.I have never seen us get this much in one day, this is usually the amount for the whole winter.the dogs love it though.
I bet our dogs would love to have a warmer place to go potty than out there when its in the teens!!
Yes we have 10 stockings!! One cat and 4 dogs and 5 people!! Pretty funny sight.it crazy around here but we love it.
I think the reason I started letting them out is because they can play and get out some energy without me watching them roll around on news paper and growling in my kitchen! lol.
I remember one winter when I lived in Spokane with my parents there was four feet of snow on the ground and it almost caved in our carport! It was crazy and we got out of school for like a week straight! I lvoed it. It was so high our neighbors were sledding off of their garage into their front yards!
You could take a picture of all the stockings hanging in a row and make an awesome christmas card for friends/family!
I took a new pic of the girls tonight I'll put in the link here. They don't look much different but Nikki (sable face without any black) has gained a whole pound in two weeks! She's getting big.
I think Nikki will be 10-12 lbs, Molly will be probably 10-11, and Sophie will be a bit smaller like 7-8. That's what the vet predicted atleast but she hasn't exactly been right about a lot of things with the girls yet so who knows? When they go in to be spayed at four months I will ask her again what she thinks in terms of size.
