Rene' sells Bichons. So I know for a fact that they are part Bichon. Gresham is only about 20 min. from my house. They are cute...but cost too much for a mix. I know that she is selling them for over $700.00.

SMILING ..... nice to meet you Yes, she sells them for $750 for mixed breed. But you have to remember Renee and her hubby is the people who started this breed and patented the breed. So they can charge what they want I am getting one.
Not really sure, I looked it up through the US patent office and they do have the patent on the breed. They also show the official patent papers on there website. So I guess you would get a patent on a breed of cat or dog like you would on any invention
I would have to say she probably has a patent on the name Teddy Bear, not the mix. You can't patent a mix breed, you can't even patent a pure breed. (and I wish everyone would stop calling it a breed) I think a Daisy Dog is the same thing, just another breeder using a different catchy name. Either way, its a rip off if you ask me.
It would have to be a patent on the name "Teddy Bear Puppy", so only she can sell dogs called that. Patents are easy to get and usually pretty cheap, depending on what kind you get. As far as what a Teddy Bear dog is, the dog on the front page of the website looks just like Merphy (Lhasa Apso) when he was a puppy, maybe a smaller nose. But, Merphy has breathing problems as it is, so I don't know that a smaller nose would help the problem. He still looks like a teddy bear when he lays on his back.
Some of the other pups in her photo album had more of the afro hair look. They also all had blue eyes. Lhasas have brown/black eyes. So maybe she crossed them with a poodle...a Lhasa Poo? If I am correct on what I think a Bichon Frise is, then that could be it too.
