I just keep getting the picture in my mind.... running downstairs and picking him up from the snow. His mouth was open and there was blood coming out of it. He ran out accidently while my boyfriend went out for a smoke.
I can't even express how sorry I am that this happened. A few years ago, my precious cat got out in the road and was run over. I didn't realize until late morning the next day. I saw something out in the road and wasn't sure what it was. Finally I looked out and it was her. I have no idea why she would of gone out that far (we lived a pretty far back from the road.) No words can make you forget, but I am truely sorry this happened. Stay close to your lab and he'll try and make you feel better.
Thanxs Raveeka for remembering that i have a lab.... I just don't know what happened.... it happened all so fast. He ran between my boyfriend legs when the balcony door opened and then he jumped once on the ledge of the balcony and then a second time and that was it. I was crying non stop and my boyfriend had to take him away from our builing to a nearby forest to cover her with snow.
That is such a shame. But just like we make mistakes, animals do too. He might have just been frisky and didn't think about what he was doing. I'm sure he didn't suffer, and now he is a better place, kitty heaven.
I'm not an medical expert, so I couldn't tell you for sure. It might have been that he broke something, but it could be that he was bleeding from the inside? I wouldn't worry yourself too much about it now. Try to stay calm and spend time with your boyfriend and other pets. When you feel a little better you might want to have a little service for him. Just some flowers and a few words for him.
I'm really sorry about your cat. You must be so upset. We used to live in an eight floor apt, we made the cats so scared of going out there, cause I was afraid of that happening. Do you have other cats? You know if you take it to your Veterinarian, you could get the cat cremated, and get ashes back in an ern.
