She seems to be coming around slowly-at least she is now playing with my husband and I when she is in her crate. She will give kisses and wag her tail, but the minute you try and take her out she crouches and shakes still-her submissive urination is still bad when you try and trake her out, but she seems more confident when she is in the crate. I really don't like it that she sems to be happier in the crate. I am sure that time will help her.
There is definitely no way now we will ever allow her to be sent to a different family. I am going to have her micriochipped, and she will always wear her collar AND harness. She will have the best, just as my other dogs do and she will NEVER know abuse or neglect again.
it will be worth it. snoopy hid in his crate for a week or two when we got him. he was never abused (that i can tell) but was scared of everything. once he came out, he hid under hte desk for another week or so, then he hid in the living room under the end table..took a while to be comfy in the living room, out in the open with us. he also had a pee problem, but his was excited, not sumb. peeing. it cleared up quickly too.
