Well I found that to be extremly educational and fun to listen to I am totally taken by this Im making it a prioriety to get to the library or bookstore to read up on this and learn more, thank you for your reply back.
your welcome sandycane... like I said I'll talk about these dogs all day! There arn't too many books out on the Olde English Bulldogge breed. I have a great book called "The Story of the Real Bulldog" about Oldies & a few other alternative bulldog breeds.. it tells about them working and stuff. Also I have never read it but others have told me Oldies are in the book.. "The World of Fighting Dogs".. I have never got that book because personally I was turned off by the name of the book... Bulldogs are lovers not fighters.
Here's a few links about the breed and the breeder that I know who actually does breed them for working.,,,
you know i am new to this but when i read how rude some people can be it makes me sick. I hope that Huran or who ever they are knows that things can always turn around and some back on you. you must have a miserable life to be so down on somebody that just lost a dog. Bullseye did not ask for that.
I am really sorry for you loss bullseye and have had the experience of losing a pet that was like a child to me. you didn't deserve that.
Been reading the thread and just decided to add a comment quickly.....first I am sorry for your loss, it is horrible when you lose a pet, I think I am one of the worst in handling these things myself.
He is an adorable guy and does look very healthy in the pics, unfortunately, sudden illness does not always give us alot of warning.
Does it sound as though the dog food was to blame , IMO, no (now no freaking out, just my opinion) you would think the other would have been affected to an extent as well. Also seems the timing didnt seem right to blame the food.
In hind site, I know you wish you would have pushed the testing issue. I dont think I could leave the vets with just having an otherwise healthy 1 1/2 yr old drop dead without ordering something be it autopsy, bloodwork, etc. I would need to know exactly what happened (are my other dogs at risk? was it a random poisoning,or from the dog food. Would worry me to death to wonder if tomorrow will be another ones ill fate. Also is it genetic....do these pups now have the chance of having a genetic issue that will cause their lives to be shortenend also) I think to sell them and feel 100% confortable that I'm not going to break someones heart, I would have had some tests done for the sake of the dogs and my own mind.

I would like to start off by saying that the following is my opinion and it would be nice if no one goes crazy over it. I would like to say that I am sorry for you loss he looked like a very healthy dog and he was very handsom but I do have to agree w/ huron and lpn on this one. If my healthy dog died @ such a young age I would definitly want to know why it died. I would not be able to go to sleep untill I found out why my perfectly healthy dog died suddenly. As lpn said " I would need to know exactly what happened (are my other dogs at risk? was it a random poisoning,or from the dog food." If my other dogs are at risk I would want to test them to make sure that they arent poisned by the food. It just doesnt seem right to not have an autopsy when a healthy dog dies, but thats just my opinion.

This food that is now being recalled was sold back in Sept.!! So go ahead Huron feed your dogs Diamond .... here in a few weeks you may be regreting your decision like me!
Thank you Bully…I will do just that..and had left this alone until the others urged me to post.. Furthermore I don’t feed my dogs corn.. Im not worried.. I have checked the dates and I am not in the affected states.. affected styles.. Im not worried..not in the slightest
Frankly im sorry the dog died..I never said I was not..MY ORIGINAL POST STANDS..NEVER did I say any thing I am ashamed of..I just think it was strange not to find out exactly why a dog died when you had pups on the ground..so..call me horrable..heartless..im thinking of the pups..the dogs left.. *********************************************

Frankly my life is really pretty darn good, thanks..Im a compassionate person..really I am..everyone is loosing sight …cant see the forest for the trees..If this post makes you sick you would never of been able to hang in the tp of years past.
.No..Bullzeye didn’t ask for that..she asked for did any ones elses dog die from a food recall..all I did was follow up when others asked if they did autopsy…I am a breeder of German Shepherds…my stud is a AKC Champion and an International Champion..and if he were to get sick…or God forbid die..you bet I would find out why…I have seen a simple thing like cocidea or kennel cough ruin a kennel..and i'll be damned if id let any thing ruin mine..kill my well loved pets and valuable breeding dogs..they are tested…vet check regularly..and yes..very valuable..and to lose one..and not know if it could be avoided in another one or the pups..well…that’s bordering on abusave to me..But she claims to be a breeder also..then says her first litter..well..i don’t hold pet owners to the same standards as breeders..so..while I think its terrible the dog died..it was not me who posted this whole thing..i am just responding to the thread..and many think its ok the dog could have passed some thing on to others and pups..so be it..keep seeing the small picture..im just not..and not afraid to say what I think…so..if you don’t like it..dont read or don’t respond to it..and ill leave it be..but none of you know me..have no idea what I know, do or would not do..so..please don’t pass that judgement…but..of the members who do know me..they know i can walk the walk and talk the talk..but at least i dont expect others to do what i will not..i do practice what i preach..

huron, i agree with you 100 %. if either of my frenchies dropped dead, i would immediatly have them at the vet finding out why. especially since i have two of them and also a gsd. i would be worried about the safety of the other two. i also wont feed anything that has caused death in other dogs. my dogs do not get greenies because of the problems they have caused and i wouldnt take anything to chance. you stated your opinion. you were not rude. * post removed
bullzeye, sorry to hear of your loss. hopefully it wasnt from the food. you said he was gone and buried, so unfortunately, there is no way to no for sure the cause of death. i for one would not have rested until i knew the reason why.

* You go and get an autopsy on all your dogs, Throw out alot of money you seem to be rich! If I'm such a terrible breeder then why are 80% of my pups Champions? BIG, BIR, HP, BIS, BISK, these are all european Standard Titles! And you don't have to tell me how freak'n great your pets are or what titles they have, You probably are a very careful breeder, no doubts there,

Really, because I, and many other members find her to be down right delightful, lol. Really though, if you can't look over the sometimes harsh tone to see the point, I'm sorry. I get that you think she was blunt and maybe a little brutal (lol) to a person who just lost their pet, there is an important message. Everyone here just takes things too peronally,

horonbreeze started with the bad tone and treated bullzeye with disrespect! I don't care how nice she really is, She could be a sweetheart for all I care.. I make my own oppinion of people and she gave my a horrible first impression if you read what I wrote from the beginning I was not in anyway disrespectfull to her. Her answer to my post was disresectfull, and extremely rude! *Removed personal insult

For the record I am not swede_breed but I do know who she is, a fellow dog trainer.
And jumping to conclutions is not going to help. I can't understand you people. Sure I might be a new member and you don't know me! I am not going to sit here and tell everybody I'm a nice guy! And convince anybody that I am indeed a dog trainer/breeder/Psychologist. Sure I might have crossed a line useing fowl language, but I didn't ask her ta lash out at me as well. This is an international site and I live in Sweden, here fowl language is a normal way of talking. *It may be the norm in Sweden, but it is NOT acceptable on the forum
Sorry if I offended anyone but I am offended by the way Horonbreeze adressed me as the man in the moon.. you don't have to use fowl language to be rude and I believe that Horonbreeze was just as much out of line! Why should she get my respect? Why shouldn't I defend myself? If you where the one she lashed out at you would probably have said somthing as well. I am respectful and very interested in getting more info on dogs and breeding and everything about dogs. But I don't need someone to slap my fingers and petronize me. I listen to those who adress me with respekt and not ignorance.
I only defended bullzeye, so shun me for that!

back to the topic of Diamond dog food, That stuff has made my daughters dogs and a breeder friends dogs deathly sick. It's costing them a fortune in vet bills and meds and Diamond will not help them. They only offered to test the food for a $45.00 fee. I will not deal with them
What type of dog do you breed? I didn't see it listed on the thread. 80% champions seems kind of high...are they dogs you have personally bred? I'm friends with both dobie and border terrier breeders and their show/pet quality ratio isn't that high. Hope you post some pics, we all enjoy sharing them!
