I also wanted to add that I made great progress with the pups today - just me, a can of canidae and a plastic spoon! Even the most frightened (red collar Dallas) sat at my side to get his share. I don't think it will take long for these babies to get the hang of it.
i would say lab/shepherd. they are adorable. i cant believe anyone would dump them off like that. kudo's to you for taking them in and taking care of them. i am sure you will find them good homes. they are very cute pups !
I really am not good at this game but with those black masks do you think they could have any mastiff in them? They are soooooo cute. Do they know how to eat food? Could they be younger and their size be fooling you if they do have mastiff in them? what is their weights? I just went and looked at Dukes weights yesterday ( 3/4 english mastiffx he was 16.3 lbs at 8 weeks old. He was some weeks gaining a lb a day but usually avaraged 5 lbs a week. Just went and weighed my mutt puppy right now and she is some terrier some type of collie maybe or shepherd and she is 9 lbs at 7 weeks old.
I am not sure about the mastiff. They eat canidae (dry mixed with canned) just fine and are drinking lots of water (which I mixed with some vitamin water). I was thinking maybe boxer? They are only between 5 - 7 lbs right now - but have definately grown since I have had them. The smallest one, Eddie, is also the most food aggressive with the others. He is VERY protective of his food and doesn't want anyone else eating out of his bowl. I fed him first this morning and then held him while the others ate. He licked my chin the whole time so I guess he wasn't mad!
Halo I would love for them to be little "puggles" because it is so much easier to find homes for pups that are not going to be HUGE - but I don't think their faces are smushed enough!! (no offense to pug people, I love the smushy face). It is very hard to estimate their full grown size/weight when you really don't know what is in the mix!
They go to the vet Wednesday for their first vaccination - hopefully the vet will have a guess.
At least some great news, the cocker spaniel mix that we rescued on Christmas eve (we called her Eve) has found an awesome home. She was adopted today! Woo hoo! Now I have a lab/hound mix and the 5 babies to find forever homes for.
i think a boxer/shepered. they don't look like labs are on them. a pit/lab has the pit mark on the chest and as a lab color like tanish. my bro's father has a pit/lab and we never could find out. but we saw the pit mark so it defitany was a pit mix. we found out its mother jamoca was a lab hi daddy was a pit from the shelter...
