I have a 4 month old female pomapoo. I recently put advantage flea medication on my puppy, this was the 2nd time i put it on her. The vetenarian told me to put just a few drops on her back(since she is only 3lbs) around the shoulder blades and just above the tail. Well it's two weeks later and the buttercream color of my puppy's hair above her tail looks like a bad hair dye job. She looks very dirty blondish and the skin looks darker as well. As if it burnt some of her hair off. I feel sooo horrible to have put this medication on her and for this side effect to have happened. I was curious to know if anyone else had this type of problem with advantage flea medication.
I woudl presume your puppy is very fluffy? Not sure if you know but most dogs loose their 'puppy coat' at around the 4 month age stage, and its possible that your dog's discoloration and coat change is actually teh result of this, and doens't have anything to do with the advantage application.
