Thanksgiving through most of December wasn't fun, but we have lucked out the last few weeks. I can't complain. Every day without snow is a gift for me. It is so much harder to care for the dogs when everything is jammed up with snow and ice. I wish I could move somewhere warm. I can't even imagaine the normal weather Huron has to deal with.
Oh no, I am less than 30 miles from Lake Michigan, we are DEFINATELY in the snow belt. Grand Rapids is too, but not as much. 25 miles east gets much much less snow and 40 miles west gets less snow. I am heart of crappy snow belt.
[i/] ahhh no thanks... cold enough here. Don't know how you folks all do it. People down south must think we are ALL crazy.
LOL We DO!! I am freezing my butt off here in GA and just had a conversation about why on earth would someone live where it was even colder than this and for longer! It hasn't dropped below freezing here yet this year.

My husband and I were both born up here, our families are here. Bad luck of the draw at birth I guess. EVERY year, we discuss how we hate it here in the winter and how we should move, but... we never do. Our heating bills would probably make you cry.
The summers are beautiful though, with the trees and the lakes. My side of the state is full of fruit farms. Apples, cherries, blueberries, peaches, grapes, strawberries, asparagus...you get the picture.
We are in our early 30's right now, but by the time I am 50 I would LOVE to have a summer home here and a winter home down south where I never ever have to see snow again for the rest of my life.
