We went to the pound AGAIN today. Looking for Roxy. There was this poor little shy brown lump of a pup peeking out from a blanket in one of the pens. After some coaxing she came out. The paper said pit mix, but I am thinking boxer. She was sooooooo cute I had to take her out and play with her. After 5 min I and my husband were sold. She seems to have a good temperment. The kids have loved all over her. I have grabbed all over her while she is eating and she just wags her tail. The best news was, after we said yes we want her, we were told that they were glad cause she was scheduled to be put down at 5 p.m. They had found her in Basha's parking lot and no one had called on her or anything. I have never had a boxer. So, I have some questions. Do they normally breath a little like a bulldog or pug? Do thier eyes run a little? How is thier temperment usually? She is only like 5 months. I have to take her to the vet on Friday. I will try to post pictures of her tomorrow. Then you all can help me make a decision on what you think she may be. One of the ladies there said she was a boxer mix and could not get the others to change it. I am not so sure she is a mix. But she is CUTE!!!!
LOL. I know its hard to tell these days. I just can't believe how well mannered she is. I keep waiting for the hyper puppy, bouncing ball, personality ya know. She was a totally different pup when we let her out of the pen. Running and trying to play fetch. She would chase things but not pick them up. Kids were having a great time too. But since we brought her home she has slept. She hates the leash. You would think I was dragging her to certain doom, but she is getting better with it thanks to treats and patience. She wants to play with my other boys Hondo and Lucky but I am keeping her away from them till she gets a clean bill of health and shots. Right now she is curled up in my spot in bed.
hi. my ex-boyfriend and i bought a purebred boxer puppy about two years ago (he got to keep her when we broke up). she was a dark brindle color and sooo cute. anyway, as far as your breathing question goes im not sure b/c ive never owned either of the dogs you mentioned. a couple of things i can tell you are boxers are very gassy and can be hard to housebreak. our puppy was difficult to housebreak and other ppl we talked to that had boxers said the same thing. other than those two things she was great. she got along well with our weimeraner and pomeranian and was fine around strangers. so if youre patient with housetraining and dont mind a little gas, i think boxers are great dogs!

She has not been doing very good on the house breaking. I take her out and she sniffs around and plays and bring her back and she finds the hallway. But I do have patience thank heaven. I have no idea what she has been through and for all I know this is her first time in a house. She is sooo cute. I am doing her dogster page right now.
