In my area, I wouldn't pay more than $6-800 for a non-papered bulldog and that would only be that I was absolutely sure that both parents were bulldogs and why the father was never papered. Bulldogs are very expensive dogs to purchase and maintain - I would make sure I wasn't getting my relative into something they couldn't afford to take care of. My .02 cents
The owner will be a retired military man with plenty of $ to cover vet bills. He is actually going to pick the puppy himself. He has owned these dogs before(years ago). He is not concerned with papers and would love a couch potato as a companion.
