They are extremely nice dogs. They love everybody. I believe they blow their coat twice a year. They are smart and it's not hard to train them. You also have to socialize them early on so that they aren't shy and scared. I've always thought they were really cute and nice.
My sister has two. She can brush them every day, and there are STILL hairballs floating around her house! They are both very nice dogs-friendly, intelligent. If you don't mind the hair, they are good dogs.
Ditto to what everyone says. If you like double coated breeds and don't mind ALOT of grooming. These are great super social very friendly dogs. One point though is to find a very good breeder, if you see a Keeshonden that is timid or shy in any way.....RUN! They should NOT be like that at all. They are very out going and actually make great pets........As long as you REALLY like fur! LOL
