When we move we are going to get another dog. Right now we have 2 dogs. We will be moving on to 10 acres and there is no dought that we will be able to care for them (food vet all that) But I was wondering how many dogs you guys have and how many you think is to much.
Just wonering what you guys have and what you think
I had 4 at my house befor (2 ours 2 my moms but she was staying with us) and it drove me nutty. I think mainly because it is a small house with a small yard if we had more room i dont think it would have bugged me so much.
I have 2 dobermans 2 cats and 4 horses living here with us. About 6 stray cats that are not actually strays as they were born in our barn, their mother was a stay. We had them fixed so they don't have any more babies. Together with the dozen of so deer and 30 to 40 turkeys, 2 foxes, 2 cyotes all kinds of assorted birds from chickadees to hawks and one falcon. I don't think this funny farm could handle any more.
I as of today now have 7 collies a pyr mix a springer spaniel and a white schnauzer and yes it is a nut house here....The one that came today is a rescue collie from the shelter that my vet pulled . I probably wont be able to adopt him out though because once I turned him loose in the yard I noticed his hip is really bad so I took him back to the vet and sure enough now he needs surgery. Hes only about 7 or 8 months old and was left tied to the shelter fence but it seems he must have gotten hit by a car first
We have one male mini schnauzer and 2 females. They are our babies. Spoiled completely rotten. They would not know what it would be like to have a bad day. Unless its going to the vet. That is the only time they ae stressed out. Rest of the time, its eating, sleeping and eating and sleeping.
We have 4 dogs and one of the dogs had 6 puppies. With the 4 big dogs and the 6 little puppies was crazy. Then when the puppies got around 4 weeks- it got even worse. We are now down to two puppies- I think that we will be keeping one. So I guess I will have 5 big dogs now. Life would be boring without them I guess. It is definately a lot easy with 1 dog though.
We have 7 and I'm wanting a toy poodle in the future but I was telling my oldest son that if I didnt have him and my hubby helping with the maintaince(feeding, cleaning pens, grooming , medicines ect..ect.. I could never have more than 2. it's just allot of work, Thier like children and deserve the attension as such.
And we have over 100ac land so i know I could house more but then I'd be like the crazy lady with all them cats and cant take proper care of them.lol!

1 10 month old female miniature schnauzer 1 3 year old male toy poodle 2 male american shorthair cats (3 1/2 and 6 months) 1 female, and 1 male glider (both a year old)
I wish I had the room for more though lol one day I'd really like a large breed dog like a giant schnauzer or a standard poodle. They can be pains at times...but each one of their personalities shines so differently then the next. I don't know what I would do without any of them.
we have 2 Newfoundlands, both a little over a year old; and 3 cats, 2 over a year and one about 8 months old. they all do well together and we have 5 and a half acres. We're looking to get another Newf in summer/fall, so that'll add to the chaos! :)
