Anyway, I hadn't been ready to breed her since she hadn't had her eye CERF yet, or some of the other tests, but She mated with my pied boy, and the results were.Let's see if I can get the colors right.
In this order: male blue piebald-has a marking on his back that looks like mickey mouse, so I named him Mickey.
Female black/tan dapple with white toes and tiny bit of white on her chest
Male black/tan dapple-haven't looked closely enough at him to see if he has any white yet..
and finally, a black and tan female piebald!! :)
I really want to keep both piebalds. lol I know I will definitely be keeping the female pie, and I hope I will be allowed to keep the blue pie male too. :)
Nattasha, you get out of my thread. I want this to be a POSITIVE thread, no jerks such as yourself messing it up-
I will be ignoring you.
now back to the topic!
I just love this boy. If I can talk my husband into letting me keep him(depending upon the quality) I will breed him. His father carries all colors except english cream, which I was amazed upon learning. His dad is going to be shown in April. I had a show judge tell me I better show him because he definitely has a future as a show dog. If anyone would like to contact me about litters, etc, feel free to! I am sure I will have more blues and others. If I can't keep him though, I will tell people privately!
It's funny but I have always hoped to one day have a blue piebald. lol
I love poms and your little one is just gorgeous!!! I have never seen a blue pom before! :) Would you mind me asking where you got him?

Not right now, no. she just had her pups and she will be getting a break for her next heat as well as having her eyes CERT, and hips checked and I am going to see if my vet offers a PRA test before I breed her again.
I also like to have deposits down on pups before a breeding occurs, but this one was not expected.

OHH congratulations on your new babies. I cant wait to see pictures of them. Im the same way, when my poms have puppies I want to keep them all until dh steps in and says "we have enough" :(
Laciemae, I love you blue pom he/she is beautiful!! I have a white pom and a black and white parti and a chocolate pom. My white and blackandwhite parti had two puppies that are now 8 weeks old. They dont even weigh a pound at 8 weeks, they are my tiny babies and yes Im keeping them both :)
LOL.....glad to see that I wasn't the only one not knowing what a piebald was. I did a google search and came up with a great site that shows many differnt dogs. Just go to google and type in.........blue piebald dachshund. Very pretty dogs!!
wra-nc......thank you, she is the love of our lives. We also have a white/cream male that is such a character!!

From what I have learned so far: correct me if I am wrong- but normally any dog with white is a double dapple(dapple is merle in other breeds) My black and tan double dapple is has black, grey and white swirled together. But she also has patches of white.
In order for a dog to be a piebald both parents must be a piebald or carry the piebald trait.
If a dog is a dapple one parent must be a dapple or double dapple. dapple cannot be carried. That is one reason a pedigree must be checked out. The two, pie and double dapple can look similar. It isn't recommended or one to look the same as the other. you can also get dappled piebalds which is not good either.
