I have a chien de montagne dog name seraphim. she is 6 month old. she is bleeding down there in the parts. I want to breed her right away. my dog is very rare &expensive in my home. how do I find a stud dog for this bitch?
She is far to young, and you are far too uneducated..no offense. But "she's bleeding down there"..tells me you're not ready to breed as much as she isn't. She must be at least two years old for a couple reasons. She is too small, she's hardly reached full maturity, she is still a pup. She still has a lot of growing. Like I said, she is just a pup, she can't mentally and emotionally handle being a mom. Certain genetic tests can only be done over the age of two, hips can be checked, but not certified until then. Please wait until after she is 2 years old and has all of tests covered and has reached maturity. You will for sure regret breeding her now, it will be a disater. You could most likely lose her and the pups. She is too young and weak to carry, and too young to care for her pups. They would most likely die due to neglect. I would also advise you to read up on everything you possibly can about your breed and breeding in general.
It is the nature of the dog but as one of the best trainers in this country i must say no to this. wait till full maturity at about 1 year old. she must be mature. Right now she is a teenager. wait another 6 months in my professional opinion. i am almost a vet.
What the heck is "almost a vet " anyways?!!! Are you close to finishing college to be a vet? I'd like to know the qualifications for being "almost a vet" because I may be one too and just not know it.
I don't allow my doxies to have puppies before they are 2. Sure, they are physically able to, but that's not enough for me. They are still mentally youngsters. I couldn't do that to them. Young mothers can tend to be not-so-great moms.
I was a young mother so I take offense to your comment. I had my daughter Lula at age 15 and I was a single mother. Her father was 40 and married. I did a great job raising my daughter plus I have been a sucessful groomer for many years and I own my salon Magik Pets.
I don't care if you take offense to my comment. Comparing what I said about dogs to people is just plain stupid. Young DOGS can tend to be a little lacking in the mothering department. This person is talking about breeding a 6 month old dog!
But I will go there, if you want. So, since YOU were a good 15 year old mother, you encourage it? Or do you mean that it must mean that in general, 15 year olds make fine moms? Please.
It is true that young dogs tend to be too immature to be good mothers. 6 months is way toooo young to be breeding a dog. 'Almost a vet' should know that it should not be done before 2 years old and all genetic health tests have been passed.
No one was intentionally referencing young human mothers, a little too sensitive if you ask me. Though many teen mothers are also not ready in general and not be great moms, some will, some won't....though there are exceptions to every rule (I am one of them as well) No one was intending to put down young mothers.
