does anyone think the dog would greive for the old owners? My uncle had to get rid of a bull terrier that had for three years because it suposidly got a hold of his mother inlaws pom , but the pom didnt get hurt, well they finally got rid of her, the new owners called after a month and the dog wont eat or sleep play it just paced back and forth in front of the door waiting on my uncle to come back, after talking it over he went to pick up the dog the new owners said they have not seen the dog wag it s tail since they had her but when she seen my uncle it was like a different dog the dog is back to its self . put your self in the dogs life, you are in loving home with people who says loved you and then allof a sudden you are taken away by strangers to live with, dont you think the dog is probably wondering what it did wrong,

I DO put myself in my dogs paws. THAT is why I make the decisions I do. Would you rather I just left the ones in the shelter there?? Or would you rather that I just gave mine to the shelter instead of finding them homes that are BETTER FOR THEM???
i was just asking , iam still rather new i dont know everybody on here i was just telling a story that stuck withme . Maybe the dog is happy were it at , then take it back out side. Or like some one had said earlier have some one come and set with it to bring it in and out when needed. Im sure some teen ager or colleage student could come by inbetween classes or something. to me from reading the posts wonder waht to do it sounds like its because of health issues. How long has he had these problems. If you are staring your own business maybe thee is away to take him to work with you so you can keep an eye on him that way he can come in and go out when he needs. This may sound mean but its not intened to be , but if you are really wanting to keep the dog you will find away to do so. Iknow this sounds weird but do you have doggie day care?were i live we have two and they are always busy . That could be an option Iam just trrying to help not to be mean or rude if you find that iam , im sorry i dont want to be , but just thinking of the dog like everyone else .

Katz, what is it about "shut the hell up" that you do not understand. Some things are private. You talk to people that you know. You know, the weird ones. Where you can make eye contact. WHY IN THE HELL DID YOU POST that you were thinking of re-homing Koda, other than for attention? Talk to your hubby, your shelter, God, whoever. You knew exactly what answers you were going to get on TP. God knows you have posted this same topic over and over.
I am just quickly scanning thru this thread and while I understand what Katz is going thru and have to remind others that unless you live in that house and see what is going on it is hard to understand. BUT in case I am not understanding the real issue....what MY real issue that I cannot handle and bothers me the most is true dog to dog aggression. Break out I am going to kill you dog fight. Do you guys get what I am saying? Anyhow I may have a solution and I am just starting to read this myself but being someone who has experienced dog dog aggression with my own dogs that I loved more than my own life I feel this dog training program may save many dogs. If the web site does not work let me know...and I will try to find a different one as I sort of stumbled upon it. http://www.irishdogs.ie/Information/Wits_End_Dog_Training.pdf
Next time Katz gets a new dog we should start a betting pool to see how long it will be before Ching gets rehomed as well. Of course I think it was Scary who suggested she take up pet rocks as a hobby so maybe she will take that advice.

BUT?>>>>She asks opinion...and people do have memories here...so what does any one expect...to sit quietly...if she asks...and people make suggestions..and she has an excuse or reason why this work and that wont work...it gets old..I have females who visciously hate each other..and yes..i sucessfully keep them seperate..is it work..sure as heck is..but..I wont rehome just for it..But..if i am thinking of doing it..i certainly would not ASK opinions over it..its no ones business but mine..if that were the case...but they do make barriers, dog doors, pens...even shock collars and proffessional trainers to retrain an aggressive dog...especially when it is a young pup..If it were me..id get the darn pup into shape, personally...he is all of 5 to 6 months old..other wise...realistically this dog will always be a behavior problem dog..and true to form...he will be rehomed sooner then later too...when it can be avoided early on..and if my outside dog was destructive to my dwelling..i would have done some behavior modification long ago..
my opinion is based on these things..if you cant handle a pup...then what are you setting your self up for in the future? This dog will be rehomed or destroyed because he WILL BE a menace...and if you cant handle a pup...and or dog..it is a liability..thats how i see it..I have dogs that are on the top 5 dangerious dogs too..Shepherds are not for everyone..and temperment can and does make them dangerious..but..if i could not handle one on my own i wouldnt pass it off to some one who just wants a pet..the average pet owner is not geared for behavior problems and or health issues...they just want a dog to pet and love...so...in the long run...the new owners will say oh hes perfect...ill love him and brush him and kiss him...BS...as soon as he tears up a few thousand bucks worth of structural damage..and since you dont have it in the house it isnt bonded with you...and you to it..before you know it..it is back in the rehoming market...so...we all must be realistic..I am not basing this off personal opinions of Katz at all..just the laws of probability...
I just have one question......Katz listed all the pets that she has rehomed but what about the Pom's that she used to breed? Where are they? None of them were mentioned in any of her post. She claims to have had 4 litters. Where is the breeding stock. And if they were good enough to breed shouldn't they have been good enough to keep as pets once retired?
Huron, you are right on the money. The average person would return Koda in a day or two. If Katz truly had Koda's best interest in mind she would keep him, train him, and install a dog door. People have given her excellent ideas but she has an excuse for everything. Koda will continue to bounce from home to home. Chi-ching is on his way too. If she doesn't fix his issues soon, she will get rid of him too. Just you wait and see. She will say that she is afraid for her kids etc. She won't rehome Chi-ching right now because he is a puppy, he is cute, and she is having too much fun taking pictures of him. When she loses interest, she will find an excuse to rehome him too. She is on a dog forum filled with animal lovers. What response did she expect when she has rehomed at least 12 of her pets in the last 5 yrs (by her own admission)?
bharathi, please explain the Koda situation to us. You agree with Katz by all means tell us why she should rehome him. The average person would return Koda in a day or two. Who would adopt a destructive, animal aggressive, sickly old dog? Koda doesn't have a chance. By the way, he is what he is because Katz did not take the time to train him. People have given Katz excellent ideas about Koda but she has an excuse for everything. If you come to a pet forum and announce that you have rehomed 12 pets in less than 5 yrs, you should expect to hear negative comments. We are not talking 12 fosters here. Rehoming a foster is a different ball game.
scary ! my god ! please get off the katz trip youre on. i am amazed that you keep coming back just to harrass her. there is a reason you have been banned umpteen times. get over it and leave katz alone !

dusty this is a public PET forum. If you openly announce that you rehomed 12 pets (not fosters) in less than 5 yrs what response did you expect? I don't hate Katz and the only thing I don't like is constant rehoming. She plans on rehoming an old, sickly, dog aggressive, destructive dog. She plans on making him someone else's problem. BTW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO COMMENTED ABOUT HER REHOMING ISSUES. SCOUT, MERICO, ACEYFACEY, THLYNDA DID AS WELL. I CAN'T SAY I BLAME THEM EITHER.
