Thanks for your reply on the electric fencing. When we bought this land it came with the electric fencing. It had worked well up until about 2 mo. ago and now its not working at all. We tested the energizer and it works fine. Its one of those expensive ones that are used for up to 70 acres..we only have 6 acres. We tested and changed the wire going from the energizer to the fence. Bought a new grounding rod (I think a set of 3 or something like that) and nothing. We have walked the fence, clearing leaves, sticks etc. and nothing. I told dh to try to at least get the bottom line (its a 3 line fence) working, that will at least get the pups when they try to get out. Like I said the horses and adult dogs dont try to get out at all, its just the new kids on the block. The strangest thing is that no-one knows anyone who works on electric fences around here. Around here pretty much farmers do their own fencing. We are not farmers, more like city folks that wanted to do the country living thing so all this birthing goats and having horses, and electric fences is a learning experience. DH did borrow a gadget that you put on the fence and it tells you which way the fence is shorted but he said if he puts it on the top one it points left and if he puts it on the bottom one it points right etc. He said it just confused him more :) It sounds like grounds for a good comedy show!!
