Me and my Boyfriend just recently got a 3 month old Min pin. We love him to death and we've only had him for a week and I can't tell you how attached to him we are. I am a first time puppy owner so I"m new to all of the Potty training and such. I have been reading a lot on these forums and I've taken a lot of the advice that's on here. Me and my Boyfriend both work 8-5 jobs. I walk him in the morning as soon as I get up around 6:10ish Then I only work 5 minutes from home so I go home for lunch and walk him then around 12 then when I get home from work I walk him around 5 as soon as I get home and then from like 5-11 We walk him every hour I'd say just to make sure we don't have accidents. So we prettymuch got him on a schedule however one night he peed in the bed with us. So i started to where my Boyfriend would walk him at 11 before he goes to bed then I would get up at 2:30 in the moring and walk him. But he still peed in the bed on the second night. So I read that you can control there water and food intake. We tried that for 2 nights and so far its worked. No accidents, With me still gettin up an takin him in the middle of the night. The thing I'm wondering is I dont give him any more water or food after like 7 at night. It seems to be working but I don't want him to be dying of thirst or starving. But it has seemed to work. Is this a good idea? or does anyone have a better suggestion of how I should do it.
Thanks for allyour advice. You can either respond here or email me at Beautifulblurr@yahoo.com
I am in some serious need of some advice. I got a min pin mixed with American Chihuahua, she was about 4 months old when I got her. Unfortunately the people I got her from did not work with her at all for potty training or any other kind of training for that matter. I want her to potty outside, every time we put her outside all she does is stand at the door and bark until we let her back inside, which then she comes inside and goes in the house. We tried using potty pads but she would just shred them to bits. Lately she seems to be getting worse. She is going #1 and #2 all over the house, we punish her and put her in her kennel when she does this but it doesn't seem to be helping much. She has recently started chewing just about everything she can get to. I cant leave her alone for 5 minutes without her getting into anything she could possibly find. Lastly she is losing hair, she has some bald spots behind her ear on her legs and tummy I don't know if that is normal or if something could be wrong. I unfortunately have no idea what there is left for me to do with the potty training as persistent as I am it seems nothing can break her from her habits, it is really worrying me that she is 8 months old and still not potty trained. Any advice would be much appreciated thanks!
