First off, no two mixed puppies look alike. It's like fingerprints or zebra stripes. Even if they are the same mix of two breeds. Take a look at a beagle, and then at a Scottie.. do they SEEM like they would make a cute dog? Personally, I think not.
The puppy could look like either dog or a mix of both. No two mutts look the same. You can even find different looking dogs from the same litter. Can I ask where you are purchasing this puppy from? The reason I am asking is the two breeds are different and I don't see why a breeder would care to mix them purposely. You might get a better deal from the pound. They have lots of mutts. You will get more for your money. For under $100 they will spay/neuter, vaccinate, and deworm the dog.
Me and my dog babies I think you are right. I was going to buy it from someone who has only had him for 2 weeks and doesn't have time to care for it. When I asked where the dog was purchased I never got an answer. Person claimed to have paid $400 (I doubt that !) and wanted $200 (PLEASE). I was willing to spend $75 but the pup is 10 weeks old and supposedly has 1st set of shots. I keep thinking that mix would be kind of silly looking. The scottie is so long in the body. I am waiting for a better description from the seller (he doesn't have a picture????).
The only one out there was a Scottie-Poodle mix. Kind of funky looking. I personally have a YorkiePoo and he is great, but I didnt spend 1000's for him. These mixes are kind of getting out of hand. But heres the link to see one if you're interested. Good luck! Gotta watch out w/ mix breeders .... We looked for a VERY long time for out baby YorkiePoo and he was only $250 at a local breeder who cared .... Sounds like you already almost got scammed so you should know.
Where's the scottie part? Looks more like a beagle to me. If I was going to spend money, I would either buy a beagle or a scottie. Thats just me, but sounds like he is taking you on the price for a mix breed no less.
To be honest with you, I wouldn't give her a dime for that dog. You have no idea what that mix is like. You have to calculate vet expenses (deworming, vaccines, spay/neuter, initial vet check)plus the cost of the dog. After you add all that up, you are not getting a good deal. It seems like you are not very picky up the kind of dog you are getting so why not get one from the pound. You save a puppy's life plus you are getting an awesome deal. The dog is fixed, vaccinated, and dewormed. You save a ton of money. My pound even gives the new parents puppy food, a dog collar and leash. The part I like best is you save a life. It's a good feeling.
I got my purebred german shepherd from the pound. For $80 she was fixed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and dewormed. I can't even buy a GSD puppy for less than $300. You know what, she is perfectly healthy and has a wonderful disposition. She doesn't have medical issues like the purebred GSD that I bought from a breeder.
I didn't start this thread. After I thought about it....sounded more and more like a weird looking dog. I thought I would fool around and mix the two since I couldn't find a real picture. Besides, no two mutts look alike anyway.
