i was bitten by a brown recluse spider a few years back while at work. i was bitten most likely by a black widow 3 days ago on the same arm as my prior bite but 5 inches away. my arm has a crater in it. :( i didnt go to the dr.s this time; as my arm did not tripple in size this time. i should live ;) but if i dont (lol) this has been a great pet site ; it would be even greater website w/o all the DRAMA. :)

A bite from a black widow is potentially serious; I did a quick search and apparently antivenom is given to the very young or the elderly; valium and calcium gluconate is given to the rest of the victims. Surely you are just joking, aren't you?
What treatment did you obtain for your brown recluse spider bite? apparently they cause necrosis and require surgical removal of surrounding tissue....hope you did seek help for either or both of these spider bites, right??
I don't know what to make of this thread of yours but I do hope that you are only joking and if not then do something for crying out loud!!!
no i am not joking. about 3/4 years ago i was bitten by a recluse. i was hospitalized for pretty close to 4 days. i was on cipro and other stuff i forget at the moment what they were called. my arm was almost 3x its size. i still have the records somewhere and a scar hole in my arm at my wrist from it. this time it just stung and burned and was starting to get the raw tissue ring around it. i flooded it with hydrogen peroxide maybe 300x in 48 hrs. i just let it basically soak in it. h.p. also damages good tissue but i kept watch. today it is just a red healing wound with a dry scab. so yes i was serious but im ok now :)

Last fall I had 2 healthy 6 week old puppies that died within an hour of eachother. I had them necropsied and it was likely a brown recluse bite. The puppies were in my kitchen so I freaked out and bought those sonic repellers, foggers and put dryer sheets all over. I was cleaning the basement this weekend and I found a billion spider egg sacks. I am not happy.
Sept 04 we were putting our fence up and I am on wooded acreage. Anyway a recluse got into my shirt and bit me on my side right beside my breast. I didn't think much of it but within 2 days I couldn't move my arm and it was swollen beyond belief. I couldn't wear a bra. On the third day I was running a very very high fever and throwing up blood. I went to the er and they ended up keeping me and cutting it to drain it. It had over 2500 cc's of pus in it. They pushed and pushed and had to put me on morphine. The venom of a recluse is flesh eating. They then did a chest xray and found that the venom had tunneled all the way to my lung and created a moon shape lesion into my lung. They had to let it heal from the inside out and I had to have it packed with medicated packing twice a day for 2 weeks. The Packing was over 6 feet long. It was gross and drained non stop. It finally healed and now I just have a small scar.
when i got bit the first time; omg it hurt so badly i was in constant tears. my arm throbbed like heck. i was squeezing the arm below the elbow and the pressure burst at the bite spot on the top of my arm at the wrist.. omg i never saw so much brownish bloody pus dripping down my arm . i wish now i had video taped it. but i didnt know it was gonna burst. oh how it burned in sweet relief tho. i got scared my arm was gonna go necrotic. i wonder if you get bit by a severe spider that the lesser spider potent bites dont affect you as hard. this bite the other day was nothing compared to the one a few years ago. unfortunately we spot kill (kill them on the spot) dangerous spiders. we cant use pesticides for numerous reasons organic garden garden greens used to feed a 12 yr old iguana the chemical killers kill benificial bugs as well. so if we kill those we will have an overload of wrong bugs in the garden.
uhm...I don't know if it's just my computer, but I clicked on the link & it took me to a site called HAWT.com and had half-naked women, etc. I'm guessing that wasn't your intention, mz! Hope you feel better, and that your arm stays it's normal size! Keep us posted!
its still ugly and nasty. its not getting bigger tho. just deep. :( i think i will try this Poison of insect bite: - Applying the mixture of turmeric powder and lime over the affected part nullifies the toxic effect. Turmeric is an indispensable culinary ingredient. It imparts a musky flavor and yellow colour to curries and foodstuffs. It is also used as colouring matter in pharmacy, confectionery, cosmetic and food industries. the turmeric sight was very interesting. I have a really bad sprained ankle and it even talked about that. Yo should really go to the dr. especially if yo get any nausea. I hope you feel better. what part of the world do you ladies live in with these brown spiders?
