It is about sled dogs out in the artic. An expedition went wrong and a strong storm was coming in so they had to fly out of there in a hurry to go to the hospital but they were all ordered to evacuate. They had to leave 8 dogs there by themselves chained up and were suppose to go back and get them as there was no room on the plane.
Months went by and no one still went to get them. Most of them made it but some didn't. The guy in charge of the dogs tried everything to get them but because it was winter there no one was going back till spring but he finally did.
Okay I am just rambelling on and on but if you sort of love animals more then most people like I do then do not go see it because it will crush you.
Okay, I just replied to other thread on this topic and said I wanted to see it with my kids...AISHA-was it too upsetting for your kids?...or just you...:) I'm sure I will cry too...Do you really regret seeing it, or was that just a warning to all of us cry babies?...
Scrappers: I went with 5 boys ages 12 to 8 and they were trying so hard to keep it all in. My little guy kept putting on his winter hat so it covered his eyes so his friends would not see him cry openly. My oldest had his head turned a few times.
Scout: yes there are two that did not make it :( Then there was this whole alpha thing happening One was left alone to fend for himself for a while
It was like the ending was sweet that made me cry no, it was from the middle to the end. And, it was non-stop crying (and sobbing) and people staring it was just a bad experience all around
Scout: if you did that bad with the trailer then steer clear
I saw it last night. Went with my family, but sat alone in the last row...with a very annoying little girl that kept looking back and stareing at me. The part where the seal jumped out scared the crap outta me... it was really sad, but I thought it was really good too.
u beat me to it aisha...man..my husband wanted to see it and i already told him NO bcuz of the preview...but he dragged me to see it anywayz..and just like u said..i cried throughout the whole movie...just sad...thinkin bout the 2 dogs died...esp. jack..who knew he was gonna die eventually so he didnt even bother tryin to come off the leash..and i thought mya was gonna die too. aww man.. we got out of the movies and i said i will never ever see that movie again!! if youre a dog lover...oh no...save the tears for something else lol...
Thanks for the advice!!! IF (big IF) I go see if I might have to rent it or something so I can cry in the company of my own home.... I'm not a cryer (Like AT things) and I'm SURE I will cry at this movie!
The movie is very LOOSELY based on a true story. By loosely, I mean that in real life, there were 9 dogs, and only 2 of them survived. But I guess they thought that wouldn't sell. But that's ok-it's STILL a good movie!
this will be one that i will wait to buy on dvd. i know i wont make it through the movie without bawling my eyes out and embarrassing myself. i have seen the movie, beaches, many times and still cry when i watch it. that one and fried green tomatoes get me everytime ! lol
