Ours make the most noise in the morning, when everybody gets up. Of course it's more annoying at the weekends, when we would like to sleep longer.
The birds wake up around 6 am. The good part the birds go all asleep at around 8 pm. They are totally quiet.
During the daytime they have their spikes with the noises. Of course gets real annoying when you're on the phone or want to watch TV or even talk to your kids or husband.
I'll say "Beamer (or Casper) hush", if this doesn't work "Beamer (or Casper) shut up" or "knock it off". Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Of course in the background you hear Smoky copying me (same voice) and saying to the other birds "Beamer (or Casper who ever it is) shut up".
Smoky can tell who is who, even with the dogs. The African Grey is the quietest out of the bunch. He speaks more, which can get annoying sometimes too, when you hear over and over again "lost your mind" or "want some cola" in different voice variations.
Over all they are really lots of fun.

That's awesome. I'd love to own an African Grey. Some people who live near me (few acres out) have one and in the summer you can totally hear him sing and yell things, it practically echos all the way to our house lol. It's so cute. Are those kind of birds really good with dogs?
