I've only posted a few times, but just wanted to say that after much reseach and decision making we finally picked out our little guy. We got a call from the breeder on Saturday evening and went to meet her and the little ones yesterday. I was so intent on getting a purebred Maltese, but it didn't work out that way. I fell in love with a Maltese/Poodle mix (of course he's the one who fell asleep in my lap). :) We're picking him up Friday afternoon. I am so nervous, but excited at the same time. This is a huge deal to me!
I will definitely post some pictures when we get him.
Congratulations!! I also have a Maltese x Poodle that is now 3 1/2 months old. It was sort of accidental we ended up with her to begin with though. There was a mix up with the out of province breeder I got her from and I was sent the wrong dog. When we realized there was a mistake the breeder offered to drive the 6 hrs to replace her with the correct dog we had reserved. But after having her for a couple of days there was no way we could part with her. Needless to say we love her to death she is the sweetest most gentle little puppy ever :) Here's her Dogster page :) http://www.dogster.com/?265975
Well I know how you feel! I'm going today to pick up my toy poodle and I cant wait!!!! I was supose to go Friday but things dint work that way and I was all ready and set for it too. But I'm going today!!!Yippe!
My friend has a maltese/poodle and shes adorable!!!So small and pure white and fluffy! Shes about 5lbs and full grown. I looked around shelters for poodle mix pupppies and they never came up with one so i ended up getting this one from a lady that has to rehome him because shes moving and cant have pets in the new apt.. I got lucky.
Bentley is now 3 and 1/2 months old now. Hes sure is a spoiled little guy let me tell you. The kids think he gets more things then they do.. hehe Like i said the son i never had , also the first puppy weve had. So its pretty excieting to say the least..

Cockerlover, I have to give you a special "thank you" because I believe (I'm really bad with names and it's been a while since I had posted) that you were the one who emailed me a lot of information on breeders.
I can't wait until Friday to post pictures.
Thank goodness he's already papertrained and sleeps in a crate.
I honestly was a little nervous at first to post that he is a Maltese/Poodle mix. I thought I would never entertain the thought of buying a "designer/hybrid dog" or whatever they call them them these days. I always figured I would need a 100% purebred puppy, but what can I say I fell in love with the little guy.
Im just glad I could help.Like alot of people on here we arent against the breed. The only thing that bugs me is all the weirdo names they call them.In the news paper this week there was Bloodhoundtervuren pups for $350 and another ad for engelbell pups for $600!! So dont be afraid to post about your new family member! Your lucky he is already that trained!
