Merphy Dublin Humpernickel--Merphy cuz he just looked like one, Dublin cuz I call him Doobey or Doobs and Merphy Doobey didn't sound right, and Humpernickel because he used to hump everything.
Ender-my brother and I named her after a character in a book and an song by my favorite band (Dashboard Confessional).
Joy--she came to me with this name, and I hated it because no 220 pound dog should have that name, but I just couldn't change it for some reason.
Sadie--she came with this name, and it fit her perfectly.
My cats have been:
X--after the X-Men, my favorite movie and he had this mark on his nose that reminded me of one of the X-men
Gargomel--he was a black cat, and I got my Smurf characters mixed up! I wanted to get a black cat and name him Snow, but it didn't fit.
Stormy Blue Sky--If you saw this cat, you'd understand. She was the color of storm clouds, and had the most beautiful blue eyes. She started off as just Stormy, Stormy Blue, then I was drinking a Skky Blue, and it stuck.
Shadrach--my mom suggested it, and I liked it. My intention was to get a Meshack and Abedneggo, but never did.
Toby--he just looked like a Toby, and also got called Toberman and Tobinski.
My Hamster was Dixon Turbo Ticonderoga Confuscious, or Turbo Tiki for short. He started off as Ticonderoga, Tiki for short, then his first night home, he rode his treadmill the entire night, so then he was Turbo Tiki. Then I left for about an hour, and came back and it was dark in my room, when I switched on the light, he looked so confused, so then Confuscious got tacked on. Then Dixon eventually got tacked on because of Ticonderoga, and Dixon Ticonderoga was the pencil company, and I honestly don't know why I named him that.
I've had a ton of fish, but I have a hard time keeping them alive for longer than two weeks. The ones I do remember were Phil, Jim, Steve, Aaron, and Colin.
When I was a kid, our cat's name was skizex (SKEE-ZIX) I also had a cat "Bunny" because she was a fostered turned adoptee that was sickly so I had to hand feed her, called her "honey bunny" and it ended up just being "Bunny"
My mom brought home a box and put it on the coffeetable. It was a Blue Bonnet box. I opened it and inside was an albino guinea pig. I named her Chiffon. Anybody remember the commercial...If you think it's butter but it's not.....it's Chiffon! We now have a cat named Peyote. He already had his name when I found him. He had tags on so I called the number and got forwarded to another number. His original owner moved 3 hours away and left him with another family but he decided not to stay there. He had been missing for almost a year when I found him. She said she didn't want him, the people she gave him to didn't want him back, so I could have him. His name sounded like a drug so I looked it up and it is a hallucinogenic cactus. I call him Odie when people come over so people don't think I'm into that sort of thing.

Juniper(Junie):I know why I named her that for sure, you guys and gals helped. Thats what everyone liked! Cats:
Jazzmine: She is ALWAYS transfixed by Jazz music and she, well, is mine. I started calling her Jasmine, but it soon changed to Jazzmine. Yet she responds to many different names including: Brisinger, Argent, Ageiro, and Hydra.
Oak: He sits in this certian Oak tree day and night. Well only about 08 hours a day.
Cherry: This name is weird for her because she is all black. The first thing that came to mind is Black Cherry, but soon shortened to cherry.
They all have regular names, but for weird reasons.
Cats names: 1. Gracie May, because she is gray, and I got her for mothers day!
2. Desi Loo ( aka Desiree ) she looked like the desert, and desi loo was just a nickname that stuck.
3. Simone, just cuz, I thought it was a beautiful name, and it does fit her ( she has beautiful blue eyes, and is carmel, chocolate, and white medium hair like a snowshoe)
Dogs: 1. Olympia Marie, named after Mount Olympus from Clash of the Titans. ( nick name Oly) Gray, and white Siberian
2. Hailey Ann, Dh, and DS liked the name Hailey, I just added ann so I had a longer name to say when she did something I didn't like. ( nick names Hella Baloo, Hells bells, and Hoop diddy poopah) Black, and white Siberian
3. Mariya Nakai: Mariya is from paint your wagon ( the song: They call the wind Mariya) Nakai was the name of an american Indian drummer, and wind flute musician, that I had a CD for that all the animals loved, especially Hailey. ( nick name Mariya papaya ) Mariya is a red, and white siberian
4. Jonah Boo: Jonah also came from the song they call the wind Mariya, they call the fire Joe He's a red and white Siberian, ( didn't want to call him Joe cuz rhymes with No, so it became Jonah) Boo is his fathers name.
Bunny: Chloe Sue, just cuz I love the name chloe, sue to rhyme with desi loo. Gray, and white dwarf.
birds: Perry, Aaron, Opal, and Frosty ( perry was periwinkle blue, Aaron was yellow, and green, Opal was purple blue with white, and frosty we got in the winter.
Fish; ( was a beta ) named Angus dark blue reminded me of black angus

Murphy- He's a pure breed Golden, trained as a hearing service dog for my youngest daughter and he came with that name. I'd have to look what his registered name is.I have no idea it wasn't that important when he came to us, it was more important to try and teach my daughter to say Murphy. It still sounds like MMMMMMMM-urp-ee, when she says it but it's getting better.
Pietero- He's a Alaskian Malamute, Black Lab mix, (not on purpose but he needed a good home) we call him Pete or Petey
Mollie Jo- another cross breed, who was given to me as a birthday gift. She's a Jack Russle-begal mix. I was severly depressed when she was given to me. For some reason i liked the name Mollie Jo so I called her that, after awhile it becasme just MoJo, which fits becasue my husband says she gave me back my MoJo.
Cats: They all came with the house and the kids helped name them, they are all barn cats, but needed names so i knoew which cat the kids where talking about.
Mama- cause she's always either pregnant or got kittens following her.
Socks- she's mostly back with little white paws that lookslike she's wearing bobbie socks.
Beauty- She's Black with a white face and one black "beauty" mark on her upper lip.
Mushu- Orange Tabby Tom Cat, who's very friendly for a Tom, and my 8 yr old daughter loves him, one day she was stuck on one of the Veggie Tales Silly Songs and it has the word Mushu Chicken, Mushu pork in it and she decided to call him MuShu, who knows, she's *.
Mary Jane or "MJ"- the uggliest black and orange cat I have ever seen but my 6 yr old sons love her becasue she catches spiders between her toes and eats them, so they named her Mary Jane after Mary Jane from Spider man.
Hamster namedFuzzy, becasue "duuuuh mom, he's Fuzzy" ( he belongs to my 8 yr old)
and a Garder Snake named No Feet for obvious reasons( this was also the first thing my youngest daughter signed when she saw it for the first time).
Copper Whopper Alf- my first dog corgie malamute cross, with some austrailian cattle dog trowen in for good measure. Whopper because her was the longest pup in the litter, Alf well you had to know him, he was a clutz and copper because of his color, we mostly called him copper.
Langan's Brushwood"s Ruffian- My first purebred, a Shiba Inu we call her Ruffian after the racehorse, I have always loved watching races and the name suits her to a tee.
CKC CH Cintara's Tonka Toy- My second purebred, another Shiba Inu, like I didn't learn from the first,LOL. His breeder named him because she was comeing up from the kennels one day and there her was standing on a little mound of snow "like a little dump truck" call name Tonka.
My husbands cat is a white ragdoll cross named Casper but he is more dog like than the shiba's and comes when called.
