I transported these dogs and cat today. They came all the way from Virginia, from a very high kill shelter. They are going up to Ticonderoga NY to be adopted out. And the cat I dropped off with his new owners, who were taking him home to Boston!
Uh... So can I adopt Sara????? I wish! I would in a heartbeat if I could. I love her coloring. I guess I have a thing for 'different' coloring in dogs! (Jake is brindle) What a bunch of cuties I hope they all find great new homes!
wow, soooo many dogs and cats needing homes. its heartbreaking. i had to do a double take on burt. it looks just like katz's koda. wonderful dogs and cats that would be great family pets. just not enough families to go around. too sad. its hard for me to look at their faces without getting teary eyed.
thelifeofriley- I really shouldn't have looked at that site.... I want to adopt ! I am so glad it sounds like those puppies are going to great homes! Did you come all the way down to VA? If you did where in VA?
I cant believe all these animals need homes. Thats sad that so many are with out familys. Do they normally all get adopted or will they stay there forever if no one wants them? Maybe i should find out how i can help in my area. Im scared of big dogs (ive been bite before) but im sure maybe i can do something to help the homeless pets in our area find a home. Also the cats at petsmart do they always stay in that cage? Do they let them out to play at all? Or are they in those cages till they are adopted? What a sad, sad life they must have. Really i wish more ppl helped like you and more careless ppl would get their pets fixed and take care of the ones they have instead of getting tired of them and droping them off for some one else to care for them. That is very heartless of them. Poor things. Bless their hearts.
Tap, I'm not sure what happens to dogs that don't get adopted. I know with this paticular rescue that I'm working with, they don't keep the dogs in a shelter, they stay in foster homes. So maybe the foster homes just keep them, I'm not sure.
I know at the petsmart here, the cats come out of the cages to socialize and play, and they let people in the room to meet them. I don't know about all petsmarts though.
It looks like Claire and your Jazzy would be good little buddies! Claire is adorable and so is Jazzy! You are awesome for doing what you do. Keep it up - Even if you manage to help just ONE, or 2, 3, 4 (however many) dogs, that is a major accomplishment that MOST people can't say they have done. (Outside of this forum of course. You're all pretty great here!)
What a wonderful, unselfish thing to do for these dogs. It is just heartbreaking when you see these and know there are thousands more just like them needing homes. Claire's sweet little baby face, who could resist that? You are so sweet to do this work and to try and help these poor little things find homes, good for you. Keep up the good work.
