I was gonna start a pet store, but after a lot of research, I want to start a doggy daycare instead. I want to start it in the Del Mar/Solana Beach/Carlsbad area...which means I'd have to move there, Darn! There are a lot out there, but there still seems to be a demand for them.
So, again, I am asking for all your help. I have quite a few ideas of what I want to do. But, is there any thing that those of you who take your little ones to daycare really like about yours, or something you wish they had?
You guys gave me a lot of good input a few months back for the pet store idea, most of which I will still use at the daycare. Thanks!
I have used one in the past when we were pcsing back to the States...
My parents used one all the time when they were remodeling and adding on to their house. Frankie would not leave the construction guys alone and was driving my mom nuts, so he went to daycare. He had a blast and my mother stayed sane!
Im looking for a doggie day care in my area! Im going back to work and dont want to leave Bentley home alone all day. It would break my heart knowing he was here by himself. So im on the hunt. Are there certain questions i should ask? and is it rude to as for references? I dont want to put Bentley in a bad situation, If anyone knows alittle more about doggie day care please let me know what i should be asking. and whats a resonsable price ? per hour per day?
I just noticed that the Pet hotel in town has a new sign up for doggy day care, so it must be the new trend in pet pampering. I think its a great idea for puppies too. Better than being crated all day while at work. i wonder how much they charge? If its like child daycare? i had to quit my job to stay home and raise my 3 boys because I was paying all my paycheck for someone else to rasie my kids! So I hope its not that expensive. More people might stop having kids and help out the over-population because they cant afford doggy daycare and baby carecare!LOL! But I didnt realize how much my area is growing untill I saw that. most country folk don't spend hard earned $$ on that kind of luxuriant care for a pet.
If you enjoy the workout your dog gets from playing 15-30 minutes at your local dog park, you absolutely would enjoy the results of your dog playing for 8-10 hours at a doggy day care. My dog attends our doggy day care at least once a month. He absolutely loves it. He loves playing all day with the other dogs. The doggy day care charges about $17.00 dollars a day. I love how it helps to improve and maintain my dog's social skills. What my dog day care doesn't have is a video cam. I would love to be able to check in on my dog.
Yes, I plan on doing a web cam, but a little down the road. I need to get to a point where I can sustain my business before I add all the perks.
And yeah, unfortunately, it is a business/industry geared mainly towards those with a ton of disposeable income. I just went out looking at what the options are around here (in Riverside, CA), and all I can say is yuck! I would have a total advantage here, but I want to open it in Del Mar because I want to live at the beach!
