I have a pomeranian and when she comes home from thr groomer she is so soft. How do they get her this way. I give her baths, use a under coat come & blow dry her. Do they have some special tool to get her that soft? If you know the secret please let me know.
Well every pet stylist has different techniques, I usually start off with a full comb out to remove all the undercoat (ALL OF IT) Then I do a little trimming here and there. Shampoo and use leave in conditioner. I then blow dry the hair backwards and brush a little at the same time. When the dog is dry, I may do some detail hand scissoring and hair spray the the coat in place (standing straight up).
I am a groomer and my favorite shampoo to use is an oatmeal shampoo by Bark Basics. I also use a conditioner and have had people to ask me why their dogs were so much softer when I bath them than when they do. I have actually ran out of the shampoo a couple of times and the dogs hair felt so different to me, so now I try my best not to ever run out of it again. The conditioner is just a cheap one made by oster that I get for $1 at Ace Hardware. but it works really well.
