So So sorry for your loss, we had an old dog that we think someone poisoned years ago and it was awful!!!God Bless you and know in your heart you did everything humanly possible for him and know too he will be waiting for you in heaven.
Im truly sorry for your loss :( I lost my Shadow on March 18 very suddenly also. He had the exact same symptoms, blood, lungs filling up and the blood not clotting also. The vet kept saying poisining (RAT) There was no way, Shadow only went outside to potty on a leash. They opened him up and it looked like cancer. No way of really knowing without a biopsy. The only place he had been without me was the groomer the day before, I often wonder if something happened there!
I beat myself up and still do. I'LL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS.
I'm very sorry for your loss. As others have said, please try to not beat yourself up. I hope you're able to find some peace knowing that you did EVERYTHING you could've done...and I'm sure your baby knows it too :)
I've heard about people moving before and having something like this happen. the people before you may have had rat poison anywere and you never would have seen it. If you can think of any odd spaces in your house were it might be hidden you may want to try to check. Whatever happened its not your fault and I'm sure he knew he was loved.
D&D Mom, so very sorry for you & your family. This sounds exactly like what happened to my GSD 2 years ago. I walked outside w/him & he vomitted up the frank blood/jelly lookin stuff, & I scooped it up (in a plastic bowl), & hauled it (and the Dog) to the vet. They did Xrays, & saw what they thought were 2 large tumors, & while he was there vomit again. They directed me to the nearest Emergency Vet & off we went. He's OK now, almost $2000.00 later (money was no object for me, only wanted what was going to be best for him). They found a small blockage in his intestine & the "tumors" the other Vet thought were actually Ulcers. It took a few days before he came home & a few weeks of R & R, but I got my boy back. He's 11 yrs old now. After he was better I sent "Thank You" cards w/his pic to all the wonderful people who helped us. So I know youve had to deal w/a lot in the past 24 hours, but if it helps, I've heard they will be waiting on you when its your time to go.....
Oh my god, I am so sorry for your loss! I'm in tears over your loss. I'm sure he was a special boy and now he's over the rainbow bridge. You did everything you could, but I think that vet should've done more.

i am so sorry for your loss, you must be inconsolable, i know that i would be after that. i was so worried about you after i read your post last night. i have been crying now that i read your update and i never even had the privillege of meeting dokker. again i am very sorry.
All of your kind words have been an absolute life saver today. I am on my way now to get Dook in for the precautionary medicine, in case of a poisoning, and the necropsy results I should get within the next few hours. I will post here and let you all know what comes out.
And thumpers, I am so very very happy that you were fortunate enough to avoid the experience I had last night, with your beautiful pup. Hug that baby boy for me!
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
