Okay on a previous post somebody told me to brush my puppy's teeth, they are very healthy and have all come through, I think. They are pearl white, but i understand I should brush them. Should I buy a regular toothbrush and let him chew on it or actually brush with doggie paste or something. Please help, thanks -Sienna
You can use a baby toothbrush, bought in the baby aisle if your dog has a small mouth. Otherwise the pet store sells toothbrushes and doggie toothpaste. I wouldn't go overboard brushing a puppy's teeth. Twice a week is probably sufficient, if that. If you actually see tartar forming, then do it more frequently. My dog has a tiny mouth and is very tartar prone on her back teeth. I use an electric on her.
The dog toothbrushes are no different than ours, only maybe more expensive like their toothpaste. I do have a couple of toothbrushes that are shaped different and more rounded than a human toothbrush, but for Tina, she is so small, I bought her just a regular baby's toothbrush.
muffin always just eats the toothpaste off of the toothbrush, we have a dog one that is like a laytex glove finger. anyways, in the futur for my next dog i would just get a baby toothbrush and dog toothpaste seems like it would be easier.
