Buddy was abandoned by our neighbors down the street and we took him in almost a year ago. He is neutered and our vet thinks he is around 2 years old. We live in Wichita Kansas and we will be moving to Kansas City this summer. We have been having a really difficult time finding a rental property that will rent to us because we have 3 dogs, a rottie, a cocker and buddy. My parents are taking the rott and we will be taking the cocker. Believe me I do not want to give Buddy away. I am very saddened by this.
you don't have any friends or family members that would be willing to take buddy as well? i know that your mother is taking your rottweiler, would she consider taking the both of them. i think it might be easier on you if you had buddy with someone you know that could keep you updated.
if you are really cannot find him a home maybe a soft coat wheaten terrier rescue group.
He has been through so much and I really would love to keep him! We have asked my parents and they said no because they already have a dog and zoey the rott is older and very calm so they were willing to take her. He is very hyper active and needs alot of attention. I haven't given up hope pf losing him yet. I just thought it would be a good idea to ask you all your opinions if I absolutely could not keep him. Thanks for your input so far!
I would talk to the apartment managers... if you tell them that you have 2 SMALL dogs they will usually make an exception. My fiance and I found that out when looking at apartments. Asking NEVER hurts anything. Explain to them the situation...you never know it could work! Please keep us updated.
Most apt complexes have weight restrictions... but if you have a lab or another breed that is one of the "friendly" breeds, like a lab or golden retriever they will usually make an exception. Every apt complex that we went to that had a weight restriction said that. None that we visited had a limit on how many animals y ou could have though. But I know a lot of counties have restrictions.
