who would want it? people who have always wanted horses, but couldn't afford them in the past. the horse market is so low right now i have known a few people giving them away, just because they could no longer afford to feed them.
yeah, if it's not a prize winning sport/race horse...they are cheap. iv seen sevral registerd horses young, old, broke to ride...real good horses...sale price $300 or less. just because a horse is cheap in price, doesn't make it a horse with issues.
It's not neasarly sport/race horses in my area it is western pleasure horses going for a lot right now, they are selling for up to $60,000. My Western Pleasure mare is fully trained and has extremally good QH bloodlines and I could sell her for over $10,000. Barrel horses are also going for about $15,000 to $20,000. But trail horses and untrained horses are going cheap.
wow. what state are you in? they sure are cheap here in missouri. it doesn't seem matter what the horse is trained for. i only gave around $400 for my QH mare 2 years ago. she's 15.2 HH and she can be roped off of, herd cattle, barrel race, trail ride, pony ride 3 small kids at a time...she's even been worked in a harness. and to top it off, she's an easy keeper. i couldn't believe no one wanted her but me....and i wouldn't give her up for anything.
ia,I show my horses( one in WP and one in barrels,) and many of the people I show against also have really nice horses. They are going for a lot ecepally if they have been to the world shows or big QH curricet shows.

he's built just like her...but he's 1/2 mustang. we called him pita...short for pain in the a-- because he seemd to be mad at the world when he was born trying to kick and charge us at 3 days of age. he mellowed out alot since then...now we call him pita because anytime we are in the pasture we can't keep him off of us because he wants scratching and attention...lol. so the name still fits..haha.
