Well, what a way to start a nice Saturday. I just got this email in my inbox, and of course opened it. The subject line ~Puppy Abuse Alert~ Well, I clicked the link only to see this. It was devastating for me to see the pictures and read her story. (Mercy is the puppy's name) I won't say too much about it here, it's all on the website) Her little eyes just locked with mine on the first pic on the site. I just can't believe someone could do this to her. It is so sad. A constant reminder animal abuse goes on everyday and sometimes very close to where you live. I have always said, it doesn't make up for the abuse or neglect at all in any way.......But if we could do exactly what the people do to their animals to THEM it would really open their eyes. I'd like to burn this moron that did this to this sweet baby, Mercy.
There's also a petition if you want to sign.
Here's the link...You can just read the story if you like, the sad, sad, sad pictures aren't until you get to the vert bottom.
i could barely read that through the tears. like i have said before, i just dont understand how anyone could do things like that to an animal or anyone. they have to be a very cold number. ggggrrrrrrrrrr
Thank you for putting this up Momma. I sent it to everyone I know (some of them are beyond "forward" crazy) so that should get quite a few signatures.
And for those contacts of mine who are a little bit lazier, or computer challenged, I explained the link to sign the petition was at the top under her picture and told parts of her story. I invited them to please read the whole thing and then challenged them not feel compelled enough to sign her petition because it only takes a minute of their time.

its a very easy to sign petition and even more worth the minute it takes to sign it. quinn and i both signed it and everyone that wants stiffer punishment for animal abusers should take that minute to do so.
oh,hi dusty!!!!aren't you on that other forum?i just signed up now and i don't get why it says msg# can you tell me (sorry mommamia,i read your post on another forum)i don't mean to be taking over your topic.
Wow. I can't belive Mercy lived through that torture to begin with. Poor baby gave all her strength; she's much happier now...no pain, no fear of being abused again. Rest in peace, little girl. #14,251 on the petition
" does anyone know how effective it is to sign these petitions ? "
scout, i was also curious about that myself. in order to even get anyone in office to hear you. you have to go before them with petitions. they usually have a requirement for a minimum of signiatures. it is usually 500. the more sigs, the better . it shows how much the public really cares about the issue. i signed one recently about a labrador, named oully. she was a family pet and the father in a drunken rage, stabbed and beat her. the daughter used her body as a shield to protect the dog. the petition also had a form to write to the prosecuting atty. i wrote and i did recieve a letter back. i felt that in showing my support to prosecute this horrible man, that i somehow helped, even in some small way.
thats great dusty .. was that a local case to you ?
i had just read somewhere once that these online petition things were not effective at all so i was just curious if anyone had heard that also or if someone, like you had, had ever found out if signing one of these things actually made a difference. glad to see in your case it had =)
