The first dog my parents owned when I was just a baby was a golden retreiver, Duke. He passed away of a massive heart attact at 4 years old, so I don't really remember him. Then they got a springer spaniel, Daisy. Mom said they got her too early so they sold her to someone else. About 7 years down the road they got a yellow lab, Dolly. She got hit by a car after she escaped the house one day. About 5 years later they got another golden retreiver named, Duke. He lived to be 6 and had cancer really bad and mom and dad came home from work one day to find he had passed away. They were going to get him PTS a couple days later.
I now am married. The first dog I owned was with my husband, he had gotten her when he graduated high school. She is a Siberian Husky, Shea, now 10 and still allive a kickin'. I bought a black lab when we were first engaged and his brother wanted him. So my brother in law took him from us. Now we have 5 Sibes. Shea, Shane, Adrianna, Cherokee and Duke. 2 house cats, Butterscotch and Midnight and a bunch of barn cats, lol.
The first dog my family owned when I was young was a Poodle. It was a weird situation where we homed her and then the breeder took her back to breed her. Then we got her back and a puppy and we were supposed to be able to choose which one we wanted to keep. We chose the mother but the breeder said no and we kept the puppy. My mom had no idea what to expect from a puppy and after having the mother that was so well behaved, she could not handle the baby so it went back to the breeder also. I was very young at the time but her name was Mitzie and she was a great dog.
The first dog I had since being an adult and responsible for it myself is our Min Pin, Georgie. Took me over 20 years to get my husband to agree to a dog. That is why she is so spoiled. LOL!!! And my husband absolutely adores both of our dogs!
