Unfortanitly Daisy and Baa did not live for long. Cori had jump into their pen and killed them. And we ended up giving Cori to the Humane Society. Daisy lived to be 2 and Baa was going to be 1 on the fourt hof July.
Please help me. I cann't stop thinking about thier loose. I have been wondering about adopting a puppy at the humane society. Is it a good idea to one from there??? I have had Daisy since she was 3 weeks old. They had slatered her mom. And I adopted her and bottle feed her. Should I get another baby goat and puppy???

Are you the one with the two sick dogs and then a ferret? Who was it you took to the shelter? fi you gave one dog up you should not get another. Honestly the humane society here won't adopt to anyone who has turned in an animal for any reason. Its not that shocking for a dog to attack another type of animal and you should have been the responcible one here.

Im sorry about your loss.Maybe when you get antoher dog.Get a dog that is bred to protect goats and such.Like a great pyranees or ntolian shepherd or something like that. They usually rasie the pup in the same pen with the goats or sheep.
God give me strength....Why is it that some people are just not responsible enough when it comes to dog ownership!!!?? I presume that the dog in question was a rottie? It is no surprise that this has happened, it was a question of time really. A dog should be enclosed when unsupervised, no ifs or buts!!!
I know that you are upset and I am sorry that this has happened but I hope that you have learnt from this and will be more careful in future, most dogs have a prey drive and if they are bigger than the prey animal in question then they should not be left ALONE with it, that simple.
Well I wouldnt have a dog that couldnt get along with my live stock. My brother-in-laws MIn Pin killed a coop of my chickens years ago and believe me if I didnt rescue that little dog and give him to my Dad ,he would of been a goner too. So I know you feel. No reason I should have to keep chickens in anything other than chicken wire in my own yard. Unless you are going to spend a considerable amount of time socializing a dog or puppy with your animals then I wouldnt worry about getting one untill then. But if you commit to socializing then its possible. I have a pit that was rescued from a fighting ring and hes able to be around all my livestock..chickens, ducks ,cows and pigs with out attacking them. So it is possible, just takes time and understanding and correction.
Duchess I would agree with you but this is the dog with the infection on its back because it lives in the backyard. She told us it wouldn't live outside anymore, which must be a lie since it was outside while she was out of town attacking goats. I hope this poster is full of it but she is not responcible enough to own pets.
I have a husky who will eat anyhting that comes in her path. You know what I do? Keep her in my yard away from everything. I don't allow her to wander and eat chickens and sheep. there was one tme a sheep came into our yard and she got it but it sure wasn't her fault. Its about being responcible for your dog.
Even if it as a neighbors dog attacking I'd say they have to get rid of it but she has all the control here so why do it! Not to mention didn't she say it was becaue she put soething by the fence so the dog could jump over?
joce she did not say she put something there for the dog to jump over it. she said there was a four wheeler next to the pen and this is how the dog was able to jump on it in order to jump into the pen. SHE DID NOT...put it there on purpose. geewiz! who wants to come home and see their animals dead. accidents do happen we as animals lovers have to be more careful.
the thing is she had attacked Xena before for no absolute reason. it had happened over night and I didn't hear any thiing (heavy sleeper) .she had killed several of my chickens when she was in her cage outdoos and she had attacked the goats before, but didn't do damage to them. so i decided to give her away. the thing is she had never really been raised with the farm animals. I had gotten daisy almost two years ago and she didn't like her for some reason. and I got the other goats last year. and the four wheeler was there to help block the door because about 3 months ago she had figured out how to open the door with her head.

and thankyou teacuphouse for making that clear. and joce why would i want to see my OWN pets dead. not ot offend you or anything but that isn't what i would like to see. i know no one wants to come home and find their pet dead.
yuo jsut seem to have a lot of problems with your pets. Two dogs with infections and then dead goats. Not to mention heat stroke and thats the dog that kille dthe goat? You can do what you want,I jsut think you should slow down on the animals. I haven't had one issue with a dog this year and you've had like four in a week.
i am going to slow down with pets this year. must likely i'll get another dog maybe in about a year or two or after Xena passes away. right now i only have two dogs Xena, Mimi, 2 goats, 1 ferret and chickens and 2 geese.
why are you guys making her out to be the responsible one? she didnt know that her dog would attack the other animals, she wasnt asking for people to blame her, she just wanted some advice on how to feel better!
