ruffian, someone has to do it! Obviously noone in the daily life has told them to shut up or what a jerk they sound like.
I will gladly step up to the plate and be that role. Without a fee and the bonus of it is, it's helping me with anger management because I can't reach them to slap them upside the head.. like I'd really like to do.

So it's really helping everyone I think lol A win-win, if you will.

What is wrong with people! My God! These mix breed puppies support the presence of PUPPYMILLS! For every one poo-a-breed you buy others will die in terrible conditions.

True, there is nothing wrong with the dogs themselves, but the industry you support when you buy one is one of the most horrific industries in the world of dogs.

I simply cannot believe the lack of public education in this matter. I really believed that dog owners were more on the ball.

Sad. Really. Very sad.

texaspups,I would like for you to know I have a chihuhua, who thinks of him self as being very good looking, hes not ugly by no means nor is he neurotic. i did mention this to him and he told me to tell you to come inside his cage and tell him that. .... GRRRR!

pope, i just mentioned the reason why i didnt want to get a pure breed bichon or a pure breed poodle, and the hair isnt the main reason. just one thing when i was looking for a pup/dog and i seen a bichon i didnt care for them.
for many other reasons. And the same with a poodle, certian reasons just like the rest of you have for not liking a dog well its not even not liking its just not the right dog for you.
Of coarse if my pup turned out to be the same as a bichon i wouldnt give him away, my gosh thats kinda silly. its like giving a kid away because her hair is to curly.
I do think that the bichipoos look way differnt from a bichon . This is why i wanted a mix. Ive seen pic of what they look like when they are adult and still doesnt look like a bichon at least a pure breed.
Im not going to sit here again and defend why i rather would have a mix dog then a pure breed. Ive had a few pure breed dogs growing up, so it isnt that i havnt had any i just prefer to have a mix,
as i can see that so do alot of ppl on this forum have or are wanting a certain mix
no one is going to stop ppl from wanting what they want,
no matter what is said.

I am going to breed Jasmine to a schauzer when she turns a year. I'll call the pups "schpringers"! They will be gorgeous. I'm not going to test her for any genetic diseases and I figure I will offer a 48hr health guarantee to cover my butt.
Going to charge $1,000 for the pups too. I'll be sure to tell the puppy owners to go ahead and breed them, so we can have MORE schpringers in the world!!!

I am so pleased you have a crystal ball. Seriously.

There is no way, no how that ANYONE can possibly try to determine what any adult mixed breed is going to look like. Could resemble a gremlin or alien at adulthood.
Being a mix it could take after that bichon parent more than the poodle parents and you very well could have a dog that looks like a bichon.

Oh no, what would you do then.

There is nothing wrong with mixed breed dogs. I love dogs.

What I have a problem with and what I was commenting on tappety, is that what you said, sounded stupid and contradictory. What you said.
It's not what I said...

Why on earth would you get a mix of two dogs you obviously "don't care for".

I don't get how people can "not care for" certain breeds anyhow, if you are a dog person but that isn't here nor there, point being since you don't like either of those breeds... why would you get a mix of two that you dislike? You still haven't answered.

Ok... What is your question? It's gotten a bit off topic from all the "deisgner mutt" nonesene, but you ask why dog people don't like certain breeds.

I could never work with most of the terriers, their attitudes would drive me nuts, I have plenty of my own attitude to deal with, I don't need it from a dog as well. I steer away from many northern breeds and hound b/c I don't like that independant of a nature. I don't hate these breeds I just wouldn't own them, I think thats what many people mean, but than again I can't speak for everyone by any means.

It was meant for tappety. But since you answered... can you tell me, say since you say terrier personalities aren't for you (I happen to own a schnauzer so we will use that as an example) and say you also disliked...oh say a lab. Would you get a dog that was a cross of lab and schnauzer?

tappety got a bichon x poodle mix. Which is fine by me... but then admitted to disliking both of those breeds. So, to me, doesn't add up.

Maybe you can help me out....

And wandering, just so you know...there was a topic not too long ago and people stated rather colorfully which breeds they wouldn't own because they find their looks undesirable.

Which is offensive to someone like me because I judge dogs based on each individual case. I don't look at a dog and say "Ewww, that dog is ugly." cause that is simply not how I see it. Haven't come across myself behaving that way. I would hope someone will slap me if I do.

oh! Yes I understnad, in theroy your dog would be somewhat like both breeds, so that is terrible. I would never get a breed or a mix of dogs that I wouldn't like, that's not an intelligent descion!

I think looks are sometimes subliminal, for a big tough guy who likes hunting dogs and owns field style German Short Hair Pointers (for example) looks at an Afghan Hound and says "UGH! That's an ugly dog") If it was shaved down and in a pet clip would they really say that?

Just my thoughts.

I Fall you guys like dogs on a whole as much as you claim you wouldnt be breeding them and adding to over population and bashing mixed designer dogs there is nothing worong with them it is the people that breed them irresponsibly not the responsible ones. If you claim you like dogs as much as you do you should be willing and open to new ideas of bettering a dog breed or finding a dog to suit every one. I agree that some of these mixes are rediculous but you guys are acting immature and acting like you care about dogs when your just a bunch of sselfish pure bred coots.

and alot of you guys are breaking the forum rules repect others and keep it related (monkeys arent related)

and if you want to talk about monkeys go make a post about monkeys and and this is teriffic pets a monkey is not a pet beacuase it is not domesticated some peopl own them as pets but they are still wild
