"Heather, you have been making digs at me in more posts than I can remember. You do your level best to dig me apart. You have attacked my spelling, you have out and out called me a lire, and have even used "s^%$!" type "F U's" in your posts. This being the case, why on earth would I want to talk to you? I don't."
Yep, I'm pretty sure it says it right there, that I type "F U's" in [my] posts. Explain your way out of that one, before I tell the mods that you lied!
I didn't call you a lire either, um, I think thats a weapon or something. If you meant liar, than that's not true either. Sorry, but it seems your digging your own hole! Need another shovel?
OMG, you guys crack me up!! puppywishes do not come back on this thread!! Heather funny but I do not think there is a rule that lying is not allowed. Yall sound like my 7 year old nephew and his friends.
Well now... I go away (approx 12 feet away) to assemble my new BBQ & I come back to this. I did not read all the post's cause I need to go to bed, but I thought that I would voice my opinion on this.
Reading Puppywishes's first post, she stated that I feel that a ban on medical is FAR more important, and responible than a ban on Advertising.
Could it be that Puppywishes would like to promot her (or his) website, like when Puppy was a newbie? I don't know for sure, but it makes me wonder as I know Puppy was quick to point out that on a thread that I started about Cesar Millan's 3 video links had advertisements near the end of the video's for his Season 1 DVD set's. Mind you, the video links were on UTube.
Well I for 1 was not promoting Cesar's season 1 and I have no connection to Cesar... blah, blah, blah.
As far as asking opinions, I know that I would rather ask for opinions instead of running to the vet over every little thing... I personally cannot afford that.
But there was 1 member a couple of months ago... I can't remember her name, but anyhow she had taken her little dog to the vet because her doggie was throwing up pinkish stuff. The vet told her to go home with the dog & just to keep an eye on it. Later on that night, she posted a message with pictures & it turns out the pinkish stuff turned out to be blood & her dog died that night, in her arms in the car as she tried to drive to an emergency facility. Now I am not saying that I blame the vet, because as it turns out, that vet office didn't have the equipment to treat the dog, but she could have either done more test's or suggested that she take it to another vet that would have been able to treat her baby.
Sometimes people will take what the vet or even human doctor say's as the truth/gospel & wouldn't think of questioning it. I know that when my son was 1yo, I took him to the emergency room & the doctor said he was fine after I told her that he had a new history of asthma. She suggested I go home until the original doctor who diagnosed Justin with asthma came in to examine him himself. It turns out that Justin had Pneumonia which always triggered his astma attacks.
This is not my saying that you used the word "FU", rather, it means that your "!$%#!" may have very well been a "FU", after all, why do people use $#@%^ when they write? Because they are using harsh words.
Utopia - Your dead right. I am just going to stay away from here. I think most people will see by this time that I wanted this to end, or get back on topic. Heather has made this all about ME. And that was not my goal.
Also, my website is not new, and I was put in my place weeks ago when I added a link to my site here. I know the rules.
I hear what everyone is saying, your points have been made. I am thrilled that so many of you get some good medical tips here, You made your point.
Now. There is no need to contune this anymore.
This has become an attack on puppywishes.
Utoipia - dogster is not like this. FIRST the mods would never let this take place. NEVER. And I think you would like it. Its most cool. And people do not bash. And when they do.... the mods stop it right away.
TD needs to get this kind of stuff under control. I have seen a great deal of bashing on this site and it is not needed. Not at all.
Well puppywishes the rest of us have taken it when/if we got bashed or like the trolls they left. You have done your fair share of bashing our improperly trined less then they can be dogs. Telling us we are just bribing our dogs and that they don't really see us as pack leaders. And all of us defended ourselves, but none of us asked to have the thread removed because puppywishes was bashing us. I suggest you stop pouting.
MyWeim, I just read your post. I take doctors advice with a grain of salt too. My had a miscarriage after me, and then got pregnant with my litlte brother a few years later. They did an ultrasound and TOLD her that they were just gonna go ahead and abort him, because he was hemophiliac, he would be in the ER at least twice a week, would have to wear a helmet and wouldn't live to see his fifth birthday. She refused. My brother turned 24 last weekend, has been to the ER a total of 4 times, and wore a helmet for about five minutes of his entire life. Its a shame what doctors get away with.
I'm dying at the number of times that precious Puppynightmares has called this TD.....umm, miss perfect, knower of all that is dogs both training and medical....you are at TP (aka Terrific Pets), what Is TD???? Total Disgust? Because that is what I am feeling right now at the sight of your posts, your very unknowledgeable being trying to pass yourself off as an expert. I dont care if you have been on TV, radio or trained at the flipping Pope's house. Your a trouble maker and that does not fare well here. Maybe another site will be happy to put up with your crud, but its not here.
Dear readers: If you have a dog that seems to be in pain and have not yet called your vet. Before you write a letter asking for on-line advice, please take a moment to call your vet clinic. Tell them your problem FIRST, get their advice, take their advice. But please, do not sit in front of your computer waiting for an on-line expert to help you. What you are seeing as a small problem could be serious. In most cases the problem is small, but you never know.
This is not too much to ask and should be no cause for such a fight. Your dog is well worth your full attention, and that full attention may not be given if you are on your computer reading a ton of emails that may or may not help.
Also - I say this thinking that you will have a good vet you can trust. If not. Pick up the yellow pages and call a vet.
I realize that you may want to save money. I also realize that many, many people her are willing to act as on-line doctors.
But here is my question to you.
If you left your dog in the care of a real expert, and your dog was in pain. Would you want that expert to hope on line for help, or go see a vet?
I look after peoples pets for a living and I really think that most of my clients would want me to call a vet.
I am simply trying to make sure that sick dogs are well looked after. That is all.
How is it that anyone sees this a trouble starting? I shake my head in awe.
Puppywishes, you opened this very debatable topic. You expressed your views and opinions. The other posters explained their points of view.
You are the one who decided that your views should become the law of the land and be added to the rules of this and every forum, or did I misunderstand?
You took a few pot shots at other posters and you received the same. Perhaps you should go back and re-read a few of the comments you made. Not the friendliest by far.
I am more than happy to go in and edit any profanity, that is after all part of the job of the mods. Since this thread is now so long, I'll need you to point out which message(s) in the thread need editing and I'll get right to it.
Deleting threads because the OP isn't happy with the turn of the thread is not something mods tend to do. Especially when the topic is something that is of interest to the majority of posters on the forum (ie..asking for or offering health related advise).
Perhaps other forums you are a member of operate in a different manner. That's what makes the (cyber) world go 'round.
I always try to follow the "attack the post, not the poster" ideal. You did make analogies that would be considered offensive by most. In all honesty, you said nothing that I would take personally. I've been delt far worse on here in the past and am sure I will be again.
You were the one who took it to the level of attacking posters opinions. At the outset of this thread, I made a few attempts to explain why this was going to go badly, but you chose to point out how my thinking was wrong and in the stone age.
Your supercilious and condescending attitude tends to irratate others and they will reply in kind. If you would like to request one of the other mods to delete the thread, you are welcome to do so. I for one feel it's a pertinent topic and will pass on deleting it.
If you fail to have another mod delete it, you are welcome to ask Admin by using the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page. If you do end up contacting admin, you might take the opportunity to demand the place your new rule in with the others. Who knows?, perhaps admin will agree.
