Well, we got another family member, RosaLee. Shes a 6lb toy poodle. Hard to believe someone just turned her out or she got lost and they didnt even look for her! We checked online, newspapers and for flyers and no one claimed her! Oh well.. their loss, our gain :). My question is about her cataract in her right eye. The vet said it is most likely from poor genetics and that the parents shouldnt have been bred. She said Rosa had little to no vision in that eye but she does fine w/it, occasionally bumping into things. She said its pretty big and could not see thru it to her pupil or anything w/a light. I forgot to ask her if its something that will eventually go to her left eye or if it'll remain in her right eye. Anyone know? I was also wondering since Rosa is only 3yrs old (vets best guess), is this something shes had since being a puppy or something that probably came about pretty quickly?
Thanks for the link bronwin, I didnt know she would have to have the anti-inflammatory eye drops. Our vet didnt mention this to us. I will call and ask them tomorrow as they are closed today and I didnt know to ask them about the drops until now. We have some gentamicin drops for the eyes, would they work for her eye or should we look into something different?
