I find it best to go to their home land and hire a local guide to take you out. You need to study first so that you know which traps are most effective. If you are fortunate, you can drug the mother and follow her back to the den where the puppies will be helpless and can be shoved into a sack as you move quickly to escape the area.
Sometimes the packs go crazy, but if you capture the leader the more submissive members are easy enough to tame. Retaming wild dogs, espcally rare breeds like the Dandi Dinmont Terrier and the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriver can be hazaderious, but rewarding.
Well, it was so long since I had a puppy. I had my two previous dogs (IG's) from a breeder. I really wanted a mutt for a new puupy, so I went online and found exactly what I was looking for. They send me this tiny little seed and I planted it in the backyard....3 weeks later, Polly sprouted!
My little JRT puppy was born in Montebello Quebec, Canada. He and his parents are from a registered Kennel called the "Holiday Kennel".
This kennel lacks the hollywood luster that some would have. However it radiates warmth and contentment. PLus there's not one lick of poop anywhere... it's extremely clean! Plus all the dogs including Boxers were very freindly towards me.
My 2 Frenchies are both from people who no longer wanted them. They just happen to both be Frenchies. I don't think I've ever actually bought a dog, theres way to many of them being dumped at our clinic.
All my dogs are from reputable breeders except for my two toy poodles. My female came from a animal expo and did not realize the lady I bought her from had over 100 toy breeds she breeds. My male poodle I just was given by a lady who thought I would be a better home from him than her. Boy was she right.
Our Border Collie was given to us by a family friend that had puppies Our first Schnauzer was from a breeder. Our second Schnauzer we rescued from a cage where we were getting our first schnauzer groomed, the lady decided she wanted to sale puppies, she got some shnauzers, probably they were around 6-8 weeks old, and every time we took Max to get him Groomed they were still there...I felt so sorry for them, finally these babies were 6 months old and still in a cage, I couldn't help but save at least one of them, I couldn't afford the other 2....That was this past December that we got Maggie, I hope the other 2 were adopted, We don't take our dogs back there....
Scout cane from a breeder in florida. took me four days round trip via car to go and get her.
Salty came from a local animal hospital where her owners had abandoned her.
Thunder had been chucked from a moving vehicle and found his way to us via a friend.
and icy ... though anatolians are not wild and untamed in turkey .... there are still some people in the breed that do go over to turkey and bring back dogs. and from some of the stories i have read about their excursions i bet it would be a hundred times easier to drug the moms and follow them back to a den ;) lol.
