Usually you can't see them in poo, unless they have been treated.. then the worms are stunned, and detach themselves from their insides.. and come out. Otherwise, you'd never know. Yes, it could have happened in that time frame.. dogs get worms from many different places. I would recommend taking her to the vet, having them check her glands.. if there is nothing wrong, get her treated for worms and a precaution. :) Even if she doesn't have them, it won't harm her.
my chi kept doing that as well and it turned out to be worms. She eventually pooed out a tapeworm, but she also had roundworm, which is not seen to the human eye, and can be contracted by people. they are pretty easy to get rid of, and as soon as she tested nnegative, she was put back on revolution. however, she is still "scratching," and is having her anal glands checked out tomorrow....so who really knows what it could be, just check with your vet.
What does expressing their anal glands mean? I have a 8 month old chi who scraps her bottom all the time - she is clear of worms but I don't know what that expressing thing means?? Should I take her back in to the vet??
its when their anal glands become filled/blocked with a liquid that causes irritation and in some cases, infection. Basically, when the glands become swollen, the liquid needs to be squeezed out. Its pretty common in all dog breeds.
