this is a post form craigslist today, san diego pet community. Read it, then Re read it to make sure it said what i thought it said. This is probably the most out landish claim of a dog i have ever heard.
2 yr old female this is very good as they live to be 25yrs or more Originally bred in Papua neuguinea for its amazing ability to hibernate in extreme weather conditions. It is estimated native peoples bred the dog for the last 200 years. The bred has just recently been discovered and gaining a lot of interest in the scientific community. This dog was given to me by my uncle who spent many years with the native tribes and received this dog as a gift upon leaving. Getting her to the states was no easy task. I will be moving to Alaska on the 20th and need to find a good home for her. This is a very special dog with some very special needs. Needs dark and warm environment (87-95F) in able to start hibernation process once every 3-4 months. She is usually down for about 4 weeks. No food no water needed. Great for traveling family! Great for homes with wood flooring as the bred has no nails. No the best with cats or other small animals. I have already lost one tabby cat to her. Unterhalbs are very good swimmers, and often chase their prey into the water to help catch it. She loves the water and has a great little talent of diving to try and catch fish or anything moving below her usually about 8 or 10 feet. Holds her breath for long periods of time...really cool to see. They swallow there meat in large chunks. An all natural diet a must. Currently fed Ranchers Reserve tri tip Or equivalent available at local Vons and every so often especially after a hibernation cycle she is fed a rabbit or two (in a kennel). Please feel free to call or email for more info.
what???? never have i ever heard that. oh wait, actually, there is this animal called the raccoon dog. but i'm pretty sure they have nails. and they're wild. and they live in asia. why would you want a wild dog that eats cats as well as two rabbits at a time? oh my. some people are ridiculous.
but actually i think it's a raccoon dog, it sounds like one! but they shouldn't be domesticated, theyre wild animals!! craigslist is great, eh?

Gunny, I was telling my son about this and he told me about a TV show that he saw about this. He cant remember what channel he saw it on but they were saying it is found in the rain forest and the it does not bark. Scientist now believe that it is the first dog and they can trace the dna back to it. Now I cant help but wonder if this person really has one of that he say the same show as my son and is pulling a joke on people. I went onto National Geographic and Discovery site and could not find anything. He is going to ask his wife if she can rem.
