I was just wondering what everyones beloved breed is and why. Is it truly the breed you love or your specific dog. Because every dog is so different even within the same breed.
I love huskies for there look and speed, but overall it is Echo that I love because he is so different than the standard. I'm also becoming very fond of Dobes now that I have one. But in my heart I've always wanted a Great Dane.
I am sure yall all know but I am devoted to my breed the American Pit Bull Terrier. It is the most loyal dog around. This breed has more personality than any other and I have worked with tons of breeds. They will do anything to please there owner and love to go any and everywhere. I love there athletic ability and drive. I love the looks and the muscular builds. I love the fact that they are always one step ahead of you. They are as stubborn as me and as opionated as me. They will love anything you do and clown around. I love the fact that they are brave and fearless and at the same time love to just be with there family. They will go from pulling thousands of pounds for you to watching TV with you. It is not the breed for everyone but it is the breed for me.
the breed i am in love with is the anatolian shepherd. i have always loved large to giant sized dogs. i love how intensely they bond with their people or livestock. how gentle as a lamb they are with them. how independent and aloof they are. how they don't exist to be at your beck and call. i love how they are fairly low energy. extremely intelligent and can use their brains to actually think. i love how versatile they can be .... going from therapy dog to protecting sheep from the cheetahs and baboons in africa.
they are a part of the most phenomenal group of breeds out there and there really isn't anything i can think of that i don't like about them. they are a perfect match for me and my family however they are not for someone who has never had a dog before. and not even for most people who have had dogs before. owning them is alot of responsibility.
I love how mystical they can be, but yet loyal to their owners. I love how they each have their own "look" and personality. It is amazing that you can hook them up to a sled, bike, etc and they can pull you for miles upon miles upon miles without tireing. Amazing how they can withstand the lowest degree temperatures in the winter.
the breed i love the most is...of course the chihuahua, and i love my chihuahuas because they are a loyal breed to own and they are sweet doggies...and the boxer/pitmix which isnt a breed but i love the mix because it takes on both qualities of the two of my favorite dogs the pitbull and the boxer.
The Lhasa Apso--hands down personality! I don't know if its just Merphy, but I've heard Lhasa's a Shih Tzus, are some of the most expressive dogs. I love Merphy's personality because he's just this happy go lucky little guy, unless you try to touch my stuff. He tells you what he wants. And when he's done something he knows is bad, he'll jump up on my lap, rest his head on my chest, and look at me with those big puppy brown eyes like "how can you be mad at me?"
The other is the English Mastiff--for a lot of the same reasons that Scout loves her Anatolians. Loyalty, smarts, independence... I also love that they scare the crap out of people so I was never afraid when I was with Joy, but she would never hurt a fly unless you were planning on hurting me. They don't bark, which is nice. They have the best temperament I have ever seen.
What do I love about Rotties??? Everything. I love large breeds. I love how loyal Rotties are. I love that all they want is to be loved and to give love. I love their stubby little tails when they wag (Oakley actually wags her entire butt and it is very cute). Every Rottie I've ever known is just a big baby.
Out of our 4 different breeds we have I would have to say my favorite is our Cavalier king Charles. They have this happy go lucky attitude. So sweet and get along with any other dog that comes along. If they do somthing wrong and you are telling them NO NO, they just look at you with these huge eyes as if to say "Ok, I'm sorry ,I promise won't happen again". They are funny, loyal little dogs. Its hard to only have just one..LOL
They are just the most loving dogs in the world. I've never seen a dog so in love with a human, than Riley and Jasmine are, and all springers I meet. They are goofy and silly, they love attention and to show off. When Riley gets his hair cuts he prances around for a couple days to show off his new look. They are extremely emotional dogs. You can easily hurt their feelings, and you can easily make them extremely happy. You can carry on a conversation with a springer, and he will stare at you, tail wagging, the whole way through. My springers are my best friends :) They are extremely intelligent. I swear Riley knows just about every word in the English language, and Jasmine is quickly catching up. They know how to do just about anything. Sometimes they are too smart for their own good.
Not to mention they are gorgeous. And I love their energy and spunk.

I have 2 Shiba-Inu, but I love Ruffian, and will not have another one because I know I love her not the breed, when I got her I thought they were the perfect breed, but they take a special person to put up with them, they are indifferent and could careless about their owner. They are not a dog that will greet you at the door, for the most part they won't even wake up, LOL. This, I think, is the biggest reason they end up in shelters, people buy them from petshops because they are so cute at 6 or 8 weeks, but then they are like having a cat that you have to take outside.
I have a great deal of respect for most breeds and would consider almost any of them as a pet honestly I can see the good things in every breed. My dream breed is the Irish Wolfhound, but having never owned one I can't really say that I will love the breed after right now I do. I right now am looking into getting either an Afghan Hound, or a Bouvier Des Flanders, they both are very appealing to me for different reason, LOL, I guess I just haven't found the perfect breed for me.....yet, LOL.
American Pit Bull Terrier. It's not just one thing about this breed I love ,but many different things. I know I complain about Tigs da ,it's part of the breed. On the other hand she's one of the most athletic dogs i've ever seen ,or owned. She's amazing . Then her loyalty , her love of her family , her drive . Piper has her loyalty , her beauty ( I love the looks of the APBT), especially the chocolate dogs , Piper is such a clown ,she loves to prance, the bond she's built with me ,both dogs are extremely smart. Then the way they play with one another , they are both such attention getters.I love this breed.
