my cocker spaniel, only 3 years old has been throwing up all day. not food but white filmy foam. I know he has not gotten into anything chemical or poisionious. He does have seizures about once every two months. I am trying not to put him on any medication at this point. Does anyone know what I can give him today to help with this?? He heaves really hard and I know it has to hurt. thank you
I have german shepherd/collie mix who is about 4 years old. She also has seizures everymonth or so...we took her to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong. She also foams at the mouth during siezures. And a couple of days ago she threw up all day long...i had to skip school to help her. what can i do?
I gave him a tsp. of pepto. thank you ALSO..... I take my dog to the VET .... He is NOT OPEN TODAY!!! ALSO .....Holistic medicine is NOT BAD! The vet's answer to seizures is phenabarbital. WHICH is not good on a long time bases for a dog so young. He does not have them often or long. We are treating the seizures with HOLISTIC MEDICINE and balance diet. I just wanted some help today for his vomiting. He was perfectly fine this morning. In the mean time before I can get him to the VET..... Does anyone else know what vomiting white filmy foam is from? We do not neglect our dog.
Took our baby to the vet this am.. It is allergies. I had gave him baby antehesamene last night and it seemed to relieve him until we could get him in. THe vet prescribed a antibiotic and cough medicine. He still has a cough. Hopefully will subside more tomorrow. At least he is not throwing up. The Vet also told me I was going on the right track with the seizures and if they became longer and more frequent then we would have to look at medication. So........ HOLISTIC isnt ALL BAD!!!!
Thank you for your response suebgone. I will diffenently look into the two suggestions for seizures. Actually he has them in the evening. I am thinking that over activity maybe. I have heard about it being in Cockers. Didnt know that before. They are not fun to go through. But when it is over. He acts like he doesnt even know he went through it. They last about 2 to 3 minutes. I have not had a blood test done on it yet. The Vet told me today. That as long as they were happening every other month. I should refrain from the pheno. I was NOT going to put him on that anyway. I have read what the side affects are to the liver and kidneys on down the road. I will search for alteratives as long as I can. beagle/ bassett: the vet said it could be something in the lawn or he could have even got stung by a bee in his throat. suebgone: do you ever us a holistic alternative to worming your dogs? THanks again.
