Although you are blessed with people who are legaly obligated to take care of you for another 4 or so years, many of us have passed that grace period and must take care of ourselves.
Working people have as much right to have pets as people who do not work. Puppies take time, period and being home does not mean the pup will have anymore time then someone that has to go to work.
Some of us make sacrifices, such as the fact that I work midnights and my other half days and thatway the dogs have someone home most of the time. Its not always fun but people who work can and do put just as much time into their pets as people that do not.
I challange someone to tell me my dogs are untrained and uncared for becuase I work full time.
Don't pull comments out of the air because someone asks you for help. She asked for help, she is a bit confused and somewhat fustrated. Many people are when going through potty training for the first time as the dog progresses and then regresses. It is fustrating and tiering but in no way does it mean that the owner does not have the time or energy to care for the dog.
Although some on this forum have praised you, its amusing that you can be as quick to assume and snap at someone as you enjoy accusing others of doing to yourself. If you are really as full of information and the desire to help, prehaps you will attempt to see a situation in a broader spectrum in the future.
9-5 is 8 hours during the day and she said plus travel time so let's just say roughly 9 hours per day. A 13 week old puppy doesn't have the bladder size or ability to hold it that long. Small puppies usually can't hold it for that long until after 6 months old. I can understand having to work but that is a really long time to have a young puppy in a crate and expect it to be potty trained. Is there someone (roommate, neighbor, friend, dog walker) that could come by your house once or twice during the day to let your puppy out of it's crate to potty? I just think that you are going to have a really hard time potty training a puppy when it's left alone in a crate that long each day. Of course when it gets older and can hold it that long, leaving it that long in a crate should be no problem.
"Woot to icy", "Go icy".. Wow you "adults" are immature. I was just saying she's gonna have a real hard time potty training him if she's hardly there. I can accept what Icy says, whatever I'm over it it's no big deal I came across rude, end of.
i agree with M13Lucky. 8 hours of being in a crate is too long. when mine were pups, if i had to leave them alone, i put their beds, toys, food and water and some potty pads down, in the bathroom and kept them in there. they had alot of room to run around in there and they got good at using the pads. alot of people have pets and work. having a job should not ban you from that. everyone just has to find a way that works for them. sienna, i have noticed that alot of advice that you give is uneducated advice. people that have been around dogs alot longer than you do not like to see bad advice given. maybe its best not to copy others advice and post it as your own. or give advice that you are not sure of. sometimes when you think you are helping, you could actually be doing more harm.
And let's get back to the topic as asked and take the bashing somewhere else.
Topic: Dog eating Poop
If the meat tenderizer doesn't work you can also try S.E.P by Solid Gold. I've had several customers who used the Deter also, but with no results. The S.E.P did work for them. It should run around $9.99 and for the size of your dog will last you quite some time. Deter can get expensive if you have a larger dog.
My only concern with the meat tenderizer is the salt content. So check it before using. I'm sure there are several "experts" that will give you more information.
I have not personal experience with either product.
Merico, enough is enough. If your an adult, then piss off and go somewhere else. How much longer will I have to put up with immature abusers like you. Max looks like a pomeranian how can you say he doesn't look like a pomeranian? You're totally wrong. As usual. Get over it, he's a petstore dog, seriously get over it. How old are you? Because you're really coming across immature I just can't believe you. He doesn't need his LP surgery yet, I'm working right now in Wisconsin that's where the money's going.. to a fund for it should he need the op when he's two. Your going way too far..you don't even know me or my dog. I'm not in your face, we're on the computer. Don't start abusing me, did you not get enough love as a child or something. You have some serious issues.
I have to be honest Sienna did pi** me off by by assuming I'm not capable of having a dog because I'm not home all day anymore, I would NEVER give Prince away under any circumstances. I have had pets all my life, cats,fish,hamsters,newts, and two other dogs. This was growing up and Prince is my first puppy that I have to train by myself without my mother or fathers' help because I no longer live home. Also this is the first toy breed,previously I had a pitt and then a rottie, so please bear with me,and help me not insult me! I am gone from 9-5 nut my roommate gets in at 3 and always lets him out so he's not in there the whole time I'm gone. Good news he didn't eat his poop yesterday!! I'm going to also try leaving him in the bathroom instead and see what happens. Once Again Thank You for All the Great Advice!!:}
Not a dog expert or anything. Not good at telling one breed from another. But I looked at the pictures of her pomeranians and then looked up the breed online and her pups do look like pomeranians. Merico and sienna do seem to have an ongoing battle which I can see in almost all the topics. Whenever sienna replies to something Merico or some other member attacks her opinion. Like one where she said salt is bad for dogs. everyone ganged up on her and said that wasn't true. Well salt is bad for any creature in abundance. Too much of anything is a bad thing. Salt causes high blood pressure which can cause heart problems in a human. I can guess that it would do the same in a dog. Sienna is obviously a animal lover and cares alot about animals and doesn't want to see them in a cage eight hours a day. Merico understands that some people have to work and can't afford sitters. No reason to attack eachother though. Sienna I can assume is young because of other posts. Give her credit for having a big heart and caring about dogs enough to want to help other people. If this care she has for dogs is nurtured and not attacked she will grow into a person who will continue to help dogs her whole life. If she keeps getting attacked it can make her want to shy away from helping which would be a bad thing. Leave her alone. Just my opinion.
Poms4ever, like I said before I did not mean to insult you it just came out like that. It came out like I had an attitude, which I didn't mean to have. It's just gonna be really hard to house train him, but now that you said your room-mates let him out I understand. I don't want to argue over this because I know you love and care for Prince, I was just saying poms can be hard to housetrain that's all. By the way, do you have pics?
