I adopted him the past week. According to the shelter he is 6 months old and they labeled him a cattle dog/blue healer. Two questions, what do you think he is mixed with AND he is currently 39 lbs, how much do you think he will weigh when full grown(see link below)? Thanks in advance for any input. http://www.dogster.com/dog_page.php?i=39709
what a cutie pie !! he looks like he may have german shorthaired pointer, or english pointer in him also based on his large liver colored spots and pointer type tail. if he is a mix between heeler and pointer he may get as big as 60 pounds.
Your doggie, I think, does have some blue heeler in him, and if he is 39 lbs now....I am estimating that as a full grown dog that he will be 55-65 lbs. Thank you for rescuing your doggie from the shelter!
A blue heeler and an australian cattle dog are the same thing. They don't get as big as it seems your dog is going to be. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/australiancattledog.htm http://www.petsonthenet.co.nz/breeddog.htm
What a cutie pie! I am pretty sure he has some Blue Heeler in him, but if he is 39 pounds now, he probably isn't purebred. A blue heeler and an Australian Cattle Dog are the same thing. Hope this helps. Looks to have some Retriever in him. Could be some Catahoula Leopard Dog or Retriever in him. One or the other probably. He definaltey has Blue Heeler in him. The face looks to be American Pit Bull Terrier, but I could be wrong. Most Australian Cattle Dogs I know are between 26 and 50 pounds. Never any bigger.
you know, i looked at the pic again and his face does resemble a dane, and they do have a coloring similar to that, and if it is crossed with a blue healer that could be the color comming out also if it is a dane mix. well if that is the case be ready for a very large dog, lol!
What a cutie pie! Your dog is part blue heeler, if he is 39 pounds now, wow, big dog! A blue heeler and an Australian Cattle Dog are the same thing. Hope this helps. He looks to be American Cocker Spaniel. He could also be Chesapeake Bay Retriever or Clumber Spaniel. The face looks like a Cocker Spaniel to me, but I could be wrong. My friend has an Australian Cattle Dog that is 45 pounds. Are you sure he is Australian Cattle Dog and not Australian Shepherd? He is such a cutie pie! I looked at the pic again, and his face somewhat resembles a Curly-Coated Retriever, if it is, it is the Australian Cattle Dog coat and coloring coming out. English Setter sounds pretty reasonable. Well, he definatley has some Australian Cattle Dog in him, and those weigh 35-45 pounds. The first time I saw the picture I thought he looked like he had some Gordon Setter in him, has the legs of one. I think he may be a cross between an Australian Cattle Dog and an English Springer Spaniel.
Wow - he looks EXACTLY like our dog, Gobo. We think Gobo is a blue heeler/pointer mix because we met a dog that looks just like him, body shape and all, and the owner said that's what his dog was. (The shelter just told us he was a blue heeler mix). Gobo weighed 25 pounds when we got him (he was supposedly one year old and supposedly full grown) but he soon expanded to about 50 pounds, where he has stayed. (We now think hew as actually younger than a year when we got him). Your dog is adorable!!! Has he been a challenge? Gobo has been a bit difficult for us -- he is scared of strange people and can be very pushy and stubborn at times. But we love him! alliej
