I am the person who has personally visited Red Jewel Kennels. They are a byb and a puppy mill. They are breeding 3 different breeds and one more breed that isnt quite old enough. My aunt was looking for a Chi puppy and we called everyone around and came up with Red Jewel Kennels. We visited several breeders. They are located in Randleman NC. There was red flags everywhere before we ever went but my aunt insisted that we go. Well we went and got out of the car and took one smell, and saw the buildings with dogs in them in cages and turned around and left. She did have the parents available to see but just the parents. She had them in a enclosed fenced that was very small in the yard. Her puppies never touch a floor much less be paper trained. They have grates in their crates for the poop and pee to go though so these puppies have no problem using the bathroom in their crates. I did report this breeder and just as a follow up I call them this morning and they stated an investigation is in progress. Just to clear the air. I have 5 dogs and I am sure all of them came from bybs and my rotts I am sure came from puppy mills. I wouldnt trade them for the world but I rescued these dogs and didn't pay outrageous money for them. I honestly have no idea where they came from. I feel sorry for Lindy being deceived by this breeder but she needs to face the fact and have her little one neutered as soon as possible and make sure she does everything she can to ensure he remains healthy. Most people in life get deceived one time or another and you accept it and try not to let it happen again. In Lindy's case she is denying it and talks about how she wants to breed her little guy. And how great this breeder is. By her stating she would like to breed him, tells me she sees nothing wrong with being a byb or a puppymill and she to may be just like this breeder one day. It is a vicious cycle and needs to be stopped. This is how bybs and puppymills are created. No one was trying to be mean to her, we were just trying to help her open her eyes and learn from her mistakes.
Dear Stormywinter, Well, yes I admit, that is pretty young to breed a dog, and not too good on my friend Lisa's part. I have no answer for you there. She does not run a puppy mill. She is a hobby breeder, but I must admit, doesn't exactly know everything she is doing. Regards, LindyLou
"LOL Yes, I know. I don't understand how a dog his size can produce so much poop! Do you think there could be a medical problem? He does have coccidia, the vet told me. Could that be the cause? His stool is very runny, and watery." hollei, here is where lindy says her dog has coccidia.
true_pits I usually don't try to reply to topics in a rude manor.there are just some things that grate my nerves LindyLou,being niave about something isn't a bad thing, the fact that you are being rude to people because they are pionting things out to you is what is driving the forum to be so blunt to you. supermommy is a kind person,I have looked over the topics that have been posted by you and yes she has givin you sound advice.she just simply pointed out you can't advertise. I try to post a reply to an arguement in a way that when I look back on it I still feel the same way.in this case I still stand by my statement.I feel as though the advice you give is just a repeat of other peoples advice.therefore,I can't heed to your advice. we are passionate about our pets, and we fight for the wrong doings of other animals.while noone wishes anything bad for you.........we just want you to understand what you may have gotten yourself into.your defense has put others on defense...........*agian shrugs*
Who in gods name breeds from a dog at 29 weeks?! FFS! If they stoop to do this at such a young age (just over 6ms old), whos to stop them breeding brother and sister, mother and son, etc It makes me sick!!! the excuse? "Well, yes I admit, that is pretty young to breed a dog, and not too good on my friend Lisa's part. I have no answer for you there. She does not run a puppy mill. YIKES! "In the event the puppy should die, Red Jewel Kennels has the right to replace your puppy with a puppy of the same breed and quality." I think that would have been MORE than enough to turn me off of this breeder/kennel! I fed my pups chicken liver at 6 weeks, don't ask, it was a suggestion from an experienced breeder. Have you ever seen 10 puppies with the runs or kept them and their play yard clean? I had the vet at the house the same day, she examined each and did fecal checks on all. It WAS the chicken liver (too rich), but I was not risking the health of these beautiful little babies. Their care was MY responsibility. I can not even begin to conceive of a breeder who lists the death of a pup in such a casual manner as a SELLING point! I have never heard of a reputable breeder breeding before 2 years and the 3rd "heat" cycle.
