some of the Nutro is okay. By that I mean it's middle of the road. The Innova is a premium food. Much better for your dog. I used Innova for my sibes for awhile, but it was too rich for them. We had loose stools all the while they were being fed it. If you run into this problem, there are quite a few other brands to try.
Kibble: Solid Gold Eagle Pack Natural Balance Canidae Wellness Merricks Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul (this one has been debated back and forth - some love it some don't)
There are also several types of frozen Raw that you can try.
I'm sure there are other posters who will fill in the gaps I've left, but I just can't remember all of them anymore.
Good food and lots of exercise will give her the best tone.
I have 3 pits and a rottie,,,they eat Authority Lamb & Rice. Not too expensive (but enough) and they love it, and look alot better too. My rottie has allergies, we switched food, his coat looks great again, nice thick and shiny. They will even eat it dry, with the other food, we would add canned to it. We don't have to do that anymore, so in a way, it's cheaper,,,
I have had a hard time distinguishing between good and bad dog foods. In my opinion, I hate Pedigree, Purina, foods with a lot of corn as their first or second ingredient. Corn is highly undigestible. Lamb and rice formulas are good. I used to feed my dogs Nutro because they said it was good for their coats. Well, my dogs stayed too skinny on it so I switched back to Diamond Lamb and Rice which works well with my dogs and I do not see any difference in their coats! They actually look better on Diamond than they did on that $32.00 bag of dog food. I flipped Nutro and other high priced brands of food over and they are all about the same. The cheap dog foods have a lot of yellow ground corn, cornmeal and by products. I hate by-products in their food! I think if you groom your dog regularly their coats will stay naturally shiny and clean. If your dog is having a sensitive stomach there are a lot of foods that have sensitive stomach formuals which is good for that, but the Lamb and rice doesn't have any corn and is also good for sensitive stomach.
