I live in N.Texas and I am going to try that today. Here's a sad one A daycare worker called 911 and said she had taken the children to play at the park and found one of them unconscientious under the slide, and the child was dead when resuers arrived...Now it turns out that this woman picked the child up that morning and either left him in the van or forgot about him, either way the poor baby was locked in that van all morning and was believed to be dead and in the front seat(according to one witness, another child) the daycare worker, actually the owner, took him to the park and put him under the slide to cover up her mistake of forgetting him in the van... Pretty sad, huh? Don't leave any living thing in a car in the summer.Got to go bake some cookies.....
Wow! Sure tells you how hot it is in that car. I always figure if it is uncomfortable for me in the car then it is for them too. Probably even more so. Our dogs go to work with us every day so we have to go straight home because you cannot leave the dogs in the car for even a minute in the spring and summer heat.
When it is cool enough for me to sit in the car with the windows up and not feel at all warm, I will leave them for a short time in the shade while we grab something fast to eat. We are paranoid though and only do that when we can see the car from the window.
I wonder how many children and babies die each year because of their dumb parents that don't know the risk of leaving their kids in the car under the boiling sun. I tried looking it up but I couldn't find it.
