all the new kids on the block (just met them but didn't really talk) and mark wahlberg (talked to him for a while) at my second cousins funeral. i was 9 and used to love them so i thought i was the coolest kid around....still do. :)
i also met the whole cast of family guy at a live performance at the just for laughs festival. i love seth green.
benji and joel from good charlotte, talked to them for a while before they were really popular, now i don't really like their music.
jc from n' sync (haha) at a press conference, me and my friends yelled out that we loved him more than nachos (we were waiting for him to start talking and were kinda bored and wanted to go get some nachos but the security guys wouldn't let us leave to go get them), he gave us a nice laugh and wave. hehehe...we were such losers.
i feel like there are a few more but i can't think of any right now.
when i was young my father was doing a televised martial arts demo for a TV show that is no longer on the air ... the show was called GO ..... i got to meet chuck norris and richard roundtree while they were taping the show.
Back when Happy Days was the Tuesday nite fare, I was around 12 or so.
And like all other girls, had a crush on the fonz.
My mom sewed me and my sister some gawd awful outfits and dressed us as twins, even tho we are 5 yrs apart.
We were wearing our matching PLAID PANTSUITS when my dad took us to the car show and The Fonz was there and you could meet him.
I waited in line and I was nervous and embarrassed because of my outfit!! Plus, he was hugging the girls and kissing them on the cheek. My hands were sweating like crazy!
I got up there and there I was, next to the FONZ!! Someone on stage called his attention away from me for something and I was too freaked out to talk to him, so when he turned his cheek I planted a kiss on it (left cheek....always reference that when I see him on TV!) and booked off the stage.
I also got kissed by Shamu when I was 16. My mom and dad set it up, as I wanted to SOO badly work for seaworld and be a whale trainer.....I still do. I love orcas.
My grandma always said "Donna's sweet 16 kiss was a WHALE of a kiss!"
I met Queen Latifah walking down the street in Palm Springs.
I met Steve Burton at a celebrity basketball game at my brothers school. And Matt Leinhart at USC.
I met Aaron Spelling at a party that was at his next door neighbors house.
I went to a physical therapist in Newport Beach, and Dennis Rodman went to the same building, I think to work out. I also used to live a few streets away from him.
I have handled an insurance claim for Pamela Anderson, and also ran into her and Camryn Manheim at the Savon's in Malibu.
My dads old business partner was John Dean (the guy who found the Nixon tapes).
I lived below the guy from MTV Sports (loudest neighbor I've ever had).
Ran into Kobe Bryant, literally, at Cheesecake Factory in Newport Beach, and his wife. Also sat next to the cast from Laguna Beach there too. I saw the obnoxious Casey chick in Irvine running a red light.
I saw the cast from Trading Spaces at IKEA shopping for a show. I didn't meet him, but Ty Pennington was at my friends church to do one of the Extreme Makeover Home Editions for a guy there that had lost his wife and had like 16 kids. I did meet the guy. The pastor of the church is the father of two of the guys from the band Switchfoot, and I used to hang out with the guitarist, Drew, when I was in college (we went to the same school).
I've met or ran into a few others, but thats what I can think of for now.
For the older people of the forum, if you'd ever heard of the "Teddy and Doyle Wilburn Show".. they are both like my first cousins.
I met the band Styx.
My uncle was in a band with Carlos Santana.. he played the saxaphone before he was famous. I was 5, I believe.. I barely remember.
I've met Chris Daughtry from this seasons American Idol.
I met Stone Cold Steve Austin at a resturaunt in Kentucky.
I'm sure there is more, but none that I can name right now.. i've met alot of bands, but i'm sure the majority of the forum members won't know who i'm talking about. These range from when I was about 5- now.. and i'm 21.
Sammy Kershaw, KT Lang, Ricky Van Shelton, Lori Morgan, Randy Travis, Aaron Tippin, Heart (the entire band), Alice Cooper (Don't ask, lol), Cold, Hoobastank, Ashlee Simpson, Taproot, Evanescence (Amy lee, the singer), Seether.. and i'm sure i'm leaving out a few. I'm getting ready to go to a Lynard Skynard concert in about a month.
I forgot to add, for any MTV buffs.. This seasons Real World... Jose is my best friends, brothers..best friend.
I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but I met all three boys from the group Hanson.. 7 times, in one year. *blush*
***Edited By: halosfire on 8/7/2006 3:38:11 AM*** Reason: add.
Stephen King is a HUGE University of Maine woman's basketball team fan!
He follows the team most of the season so if you have a local Division I University close by you can almost guarantee he'll be there when the Maine team is.
I actually did have the nerve to walk up to him (out by the food court) and say something stupid like "Hi, I'm a huge fan!" He shook my hand and said "Thank You". He almost seemed embarrassed by being complimented!
Halosfire.....Hanson??? 7 times?? I'm almost embarassed for you. Whenever me and my cousin go somewhere, we always crank up her Hanson cd and sing Mmm Bop at the top of our lungs. We did it just yesterday, actually.
My little brothers band played with Linkin Park for a couple of shows. And I met Alice Cooper too. My friends dad was huge humongous fan and painted his house with all kinds of Alice Cooper things, so he came there one Saturday and I got my dollar bill signed by him. I later thought it was lame and spent the dollar.
My seventh cousin is Mark Twain (never quite met him though).
I grew up in California, this is where I ran into some celebrities:
Emilio Estevez and Demi Moore at a little restaurant in Huntington Beach...this is a long time ago, when they were an item...they were both super nice.
Wayne Gretzky, Marty McSorley, Luc Robitaille...knew some people in the Kings organization :)
At Disneyland, I met Midge Ure from Ultravox...he was probably THE nicest famous person I've ever met, probably because Ultravox wasn't as big in the US as in the UK, maybe he was glad to be recognized :). Also met Andrew Ridgley from Wham at Disneyland, he was nice, too.
Didn't actually meet him, but Robert Redford said, "Hi Ladies." to us at a restaurant in Napa...we thought that was pretty cool at the time LOL
I used to have a gift store at a plaza with hotels and we had Walt Willey (who plays Jack on All My Children) came in several times and also met the Goo Goo Dolls (all three guys). Did not know it was them but the lead singer bought a diecast model car from us and his credit card had his name and Goo Goo Dolls underneath it. They bought the bumper sticker that says "I hate your band."
My husband also met Boy George at our store without the makeup. He came in with his band and they sang and shopped for about an hour.
Ok...here goes mine...Mario Williams, the Number 1 draft pick in the NFL this year, is my baby brother in laws best friend. He has spent the night with us on several occasions. He even called him on his wedding day, which was the same day as the draft. I worked EMS for a while and got to stand by for a few concerts and got to meet them. So I have meet Jewel, Lynard Skynard, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill(right after she had her first baby), Patty Loveless, THe Embers, and The Beach Boys. I am sure there are others that I can not remember.
