I'm glad they turned out good. I know how it felt to have to send Duchess in for a re-do, when that was something that should have been one in the 1st place. Well now King can go on and be proud of his wonderful new ears. His old clip was terrible. It is hard to amagine they would stand so straight with all that ear still on.
Thanks guys....I'm very glad I did the re-crop. And to think I was worried about re-cropping them. If I didn't, I would have been miserable about his ears for the rest of his life.
And to think the first crop cost me $600.00 and the second one, which looks much better and took a hell of alot more off, only cost me $190.00. The first vet basically just ripped me off and did a crappy job to boot.
I'm extremely happy with them now though and I think King is too. (Less to carry around :)
I'm telling ya, don't feel bad. Live and learn, it took me a while to figure out good and not-so-good vets. I am just glad the new vet was able to do a nice correction....100% better. He is beautiful!
Think of this as a lesson in ear cropping and PLEASE share your experience with others on here, that thinking about getting their puppies ears cropped the FIRST time. Let them know how important it is to get an experienced show cropping vet, and to SEE their work.
Alicat....I agree....If there is anything that I learned from this whole ordeal is that it is very important to have a vet that is educated and experienced in ear cropping....and one that is willing to stand beside you through the whole thing, giving advise and help.
I know...he's so funny sitting at the front door all the time "gaurding the house" and sometimes even the sidewalk :) lol.
And I know the re-crop isn't perfect...but it was the best he could do with what he had to work with and being that King was past the time when pups should have there ears cropped, he was 16weeks when I did the re-crop. And there was alot more capillaries and cartilage formed by 16weeks....so the vet had to work around that.
Actually...I'm still in the process of filing a claim against him...I had to wait till King got his re-crop and I was able to take pictures of his ears, plus get the bill for that. It gives me room and evidence to work with in my claim.
